Outdated, but the nostalgia is enjoyable.,

I'm a[...]college student and when I saw this game (and immediately rented it), I remembered how much fun I had playing it on the PC when I was a kid. When I was a kid, I loved the characters and thought they had funny things to say. The little "easter eggs" around the game were amusing and the puzzles were fun to figure out. The little spy gadgets you use to solve the puzzles were imaginative and the storyline was just like your average cartoon movie. The villain (a goat) wants to steal all of the milk in the world, and the protagonist, "Spy Fox", must stop him.
That was 11 years ago. Playing it now, they haven't updated it at all. It is a straight port. Because of technology today and the way things have changed, it's easy to see how a child wouldn't appreciate this game or find it very fun. When I put it in my wii, I found it to be mediocre at best. I tried to decide if it was due to my age or due to the game itself. It seems to be a little bit of both, but other games from that period can still hold my attention. I gave it a two star fun rating because, well, it's really not that fun, at least not anymore. And a 4-star overall because if you did play it when you were a kid 11 years ago, and you thought it was fun, nostalgia has its place.

True, this game is really outdated. But there is something to be said about your memories of this game from when you were a child. It somehow is more fun on a computer CD, but it's a good game to keep around the house if you're ever having a bad time with adult problems and feel like being a kid again, and remember this game.
I don't think its too easy, but still, the younger the age, the more fun it will be.

We won't miss Spy Fox,

Having two boys, one first grader and one kinder, I was hoping this would be a great educational-ish game to add to our ever growing collection. We've had it for a week, and we are trading it in tomorrow for something different. I'm so disappointed in this game. I didn't expect to enjoy it myself, but when your five year old remarks how boring the game is, and your six year old asks what the purpose is, you know you've got a miss. The summary sounds good: help Spy Fox solve a mystery/mission with the help of his friends and clues. The boys got frustrated looking at the clues again and again, the graphics were so-so, and it was frustrating trying to figure out what to do or where to go next. I've tried to get them to play it several times, and each time they beg me to play something else. Obviously, the price is lower than most, so I wasn't expecting a complicated or deeply layered game, but this is just disconnected and feels cheap. It reminded me of an older pc game. Spend your $20 on something else.
