Dont waste time nor money!!! December 18, 2009
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
Bought these at a local retail store and thought they would be great for my nephew...BOY WAS I WRONG! These are TERRIBLE!!!! I went to put the batteries in for Christmas so they would be ready and the 9v battery would not snap into connector! Not only that, the connector wasnt long enough! So it was impossible to connect the battery correctly in the first place. The battery sat snug enough where they would touch to turn on and operate. BUT....the static is soooo bad that you have to strain to hear the other person, and then you STILL had to try to hear over the static that remained! Needless to say, I took them back and got my money back! Dont waste your time or money on this product unless you want to turn around and take it back.

Do Not Buy These January 13, 2010
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
We got these as a present for my son and they are awful. If you have them more than a few yards apart, or separated by a floor 10 feet up, you will _not_ hear anything but static. For not much more you can buy some _real_ walkie talkies that actually work, such as the ones from Midland that are digital, have multiple channels and work for _miles_ not just a few feet.

Do not buy these, you will be very unhappy.

Amazon Verified Purchase
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
This item was purchased as a Christmas present for two brothers. They have had a wonderful time using the walkie talkies. Their mother loves them also because she can have one upstairs when the boys are downstairs. The are reasonably durable considering the type of toy and the cost.

Total disappointment!
These walkie-talkies do not work. Even standing just 10 feet apart there is so much static that you can not hear the other person.

Doesn't work
Like others, we got these at a retail store. They don't work. They are always left on (my child likes the idea of walkie-talkies so he does get some fun out of them). Read more

Static hurts your ears.
We bought these at Target. It was tough to put in the battery. We thought it would be fun, but all you hear is static. We cannot talk to each other in the other room. Read more

If I could give it 0 stars, I would.
Worst Walkie-Talkies EVER! We bought these for our son at target for $10 and that was too much money for these. They should be at the dollar store. Read more

I would have given these walkie-talkies no stars but that wasn't an option. Should have known better, you get what you pay for. Read more
