My 2.5 year old is now very interested in details, so when I saw the well-populated photographs in this book I knew we had to have it. 2.0 out of 5 stars Odd little book
I ordered this for my 18 month old grand daughter - it had a good rating.

Pros:
Well made and durable.
Lots of pages, and good size for little hands.
Easily handled by a toddler.

Cons:
Very obscure and odd pictures.
The poem is also a little odd.
The pictures of the clowns are downright scary - and I've...

Both she and her older sister pore over the illustrations (see if you can find the Scotty dog on a bead bracelet) and they even practice counting the items in the photos! This is a sturdy book with illustrations that will hold the interest of even busy youngsters.

My Mom is in the Alzheimer's journey. I use the I Spy books for her to keep her mind working as best it can now. We make it a game & everyone like them. Anyone you hand it to enjoys hunting.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Spy Little Bunnies, July 18, 2008
This review is from: I Spy Little Bunnies (Board book)
ISBN 0439785359 - Always a fan of Where's Waldo type books, I had high hopes for the I Spy series of board books for toddlers. My only concern was that the level of detail might be too high and a bit overwhelming for little ones. I didn't need to worry - they're everything I'd hoped for.

One page tells you what to look for, with a picture to guide you, and the facing page has a photograph to hunt for those items in. A drum, a football, a squirrel - and lots of bunnies! - are among the things you must find. Once you've found all of those, you can search for other things, too!

The photographs are photographs - not illustrations; this is a nice touch in books for children who usually get cartoon-y images in their books. The pictures (by Walter Wick) are really well-done, with some detail to hide the items you're searching for, but not so much detail that those items are too hard to find for little ones. The book is sturdy enough to stand up to many, many readings and thick pages are easy for little fingers to handle.

This is a good book for a younger kid. It's not as hard as the other versions and helps to teach them to look at things more closely.

I bought this book as an Easter present for my 2 year grandaughter. She has several of the I Spy books and loves them all.
The objects in the pictures are very easy for little one to identify and makes learning fun.
I especially like the creativity. The author takes common items, many that can be found around the house, and creates them into fun pictures.

I ordered this for my 18 month old grand daughter - it had a good rating.

Pros:
Well made and durable.
Lots of pages, and good size for little hands.
Easily handled by a toddler.

Cons:
Very obscure and odd pictures.
The poem is also a little odd.
The pictures of the clowns are downright scary - and I've always wondered why some kids were afraid of clowns!
Some of the pictures are a bit on the "dark" side.

The book is just "ok" in my opinion. We are trying to teach recognition of items in pictures, so it is difficult when the pictures include things like a board game piece, dice, a cake topper, and other obscure items. It is a very odd book. Maybe this is supposed to be "artsy" or something - it's lost on me!

If I had picked this book up in a bookstore, I would not have purchased it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great start in the I Spy series, February 7, 2010
This review is from: I Spy Little Bunnies (Board book)
My granddaughters are toddlers and the I Spy books like I Spy A To Z are a bit too complex for them--the Little Bunnies is a great transitioning story. The details are not overwhelming and the child can easily and not so easily find some of the "I spy" items. There are enough items in each collection to have a discussion, but again, they are not so overwhelming that the child gives up.

My 2 1/2 year old LOVES all the I Spy Books. This one is cute for Easter and Spring, that's when we pull it out. He pores over the pages, looking for the bunnies as well as naming other objects he recognizes. Cute Easter Basket gift.

This is a cute book, but not as engaging to my daugther and me as the others in both rhyme and picture. She liked looking at the bunnies at first but that quickly grew old.
