Nothing like the movie,

This review is from: The Spy Who Loved Me (Paperback)
If you expected this book to be like the movie version, forget it.The plot is totally different. It is told in the 1st person from the perspective of the 'bimbo'(I only call her that because it is the term used to describe her throughout the book) named Vivienne Michel who 007 saves. Viv is on a cross country ride on her little Vespa when she stops at a motel. She is hired as a receptionist by the couple that manage the place but their plans for her are deadly. Viv is supposed to stay at the motel alone until the owner shows up the next day to close the place for the season. Instead, 2 thugs arrive and their plans for Viv aren't for the best. Then James Bond shows up. I will stop here but of course there is alot of action and gun play in this book. If you want to know Ian Fleming's character better, I suggest you read his books. I will probably jump to his first and then work my way through. Might as well get to know 007 a little better. |
