4.0 out of 5 stars You get more than what you pay for
SpyCraft is a game with a great plot and good movies. Its challenges are creative, although they are a little easy. The one problem is that you have to pass the challenges to move on and there is only one way to get to the end. Other than that, everything else is good. Good gameplay although being 3 cd's. A great deal for 15 bucks.

3.0 out of 5 stars Truly captures the feel
For an older game, Spycraft has aged very well. You follow in the footsteps of special agent Thorn as he tries to track down an assasin out to kill the President, criminals in the Russian Mafia, and decoding various bits of evidence.

Apparently former members of the CIA and the KGB helped keep this game realistic... and it is as realistic as a game such as this can...

For an older game, Spycraft has aged very well. You follow in the footsteps of special agent Thorn as he tries to track down an assasin out to kill the President, criminals in the Russian Mafia, and decoding various bits of evidence.

Apparently former members of the CIA and the KGB helped keep this game realistic... and it is as realistic as a game such as this can get. You examine photos, do analysis on voice prints, trace phone calls, interrogate prisoners, and also go through dozens of other procedures on your way to solve the case. You have agents you don't know if you can trust following you, and also get a heavy dose of political bueracracy to trip you up.

The tools are obviously 'dumbed down' so that they're easy to use, but there's still a thrill to be had as you pluck the clues out yourself and find out that your hunch was right.

The only thing I might warn you about is that there's a few rather graphic scenes in this game. If gore bothers you you'd do best to pick up something else. Otherwise, go for it! Nothing aside from being an actual CIA agent will give you as much of a thrill.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Great Game - Vista compatible, December 22, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Spycraft (CD-ROM)
The game was actually my very first PC game way back in 1997 and of course after more than 10 years, the graphics don't even come close to today's games - which is to be expected. However, the pacing is great and it keeps you thinking. Not a game for kids (what with torture options), but given what kids play these days (what with blowing heads off of people) it's still very much relevant. Dusted the game off just recently and was actually going to throw it out given that I run Vista now. Thought I'd try it out to see if it still worked and guess what - yes, Vista was able to run it. While of course it may be just my version of Vista, but I do just have the Standard Home edition and it ran it great. So, definitely recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars An overlooked game, April 18, 2005
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Spycraft (CD-ROM)
This game is pretty good even though it's a bit old.I ran it with XP and an integrated video card and had no trouble. An updated version of the game would be wonderful. It took me a while to figure out how to save a game but once I did the frustration level diminished. If you give too many dumb analyzations the game ends because your'e fired. The tools you get to use are pretty neat. The only complaint I really have was having to constantly change cds during gameplay. It's a three cd game.Other than having to change cds I have to say the game is good.A follow up game should be considered by Activision.

In this game you play as Agent Thorn a CIA agent who has to complete several tasks to find to find a mole in the agencie an to find an assasin. Most of the tasks were too challenging and I found myself looking on the net for help. This is a great game for all who like conspiracis and espionage

4.0 out of 5 stars A game who looks like "The Saint" Movie, July 22, 2000
By
This review is from: Spycraft (CD-ROM)
Spycraft is a game I played many times, because it gets an unusual ambiance: you can really feel the stress of the spy you are playing! After finished 3 times, I've seen at the TV "The Saint" movie, and I found similitudes: the same background, the same pictures style, the same ambiance, the same tools to use... even if it is not the same story, but I found some similitudes (riots in the streets of Moscow...). The conversations are ok, the challenge is quite easy, and the background is very beautiful and change enough during all the game. But the difficulty is really easy and you can't change the story: in fact there is only one way to reach the end, even if it is very realistic and absorbing. That's why I put only 4 stars... but it is a good game for a hollyday week!

5.0 out of 5 stars I wish they'd make part 2!, December 6, 2002

This game was amazing! I hope that they make a second one. In its day the details were great. Not just talking about graphics but content. It took alot of patients to play but if you like the thinking games when you have to take alot of notes you would love this game. I still play it sometimes the only problem is it is one of those games that when you play it the next thing you know its time to go to work(Im sure some know what that is like).

I enjoyed it, but it was a little too long and streched out. Also too easy to lose.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, deep story, game bug-ridden, February 4, 2002

The story is really good in this one, the mood, sounds, videos, they're all good. Also, the story is extensive, but I don't know what is the end of the story, because this game is ****** full ****** of bugs: produces a lock-up on my computer every 5-10 minutes (I have lots of games that run without problems).
