True Commercial Dive Knife,
By These divers are not scuba divers. They wear surface supplied gear (heavy helmets with a hose attached to the surface air supply) and dive as deep as 1000' of sea water. The Atlantic Salt plain edge or serrated edge models are both common pace among divers. I own 4 various models and colors (black and yellow). The steel used in the salt series is in fact virtually rust proof. Where other steel will rust and seize quickly in the offshore environment, the Spyderco Salts will last a long time if properly rinsed after each dive. One word of caution: as soon as you purchase one of these, place the knife on its side on a hard flat surface and use a heavy mallet to tap the hinge. This simply tightens up the opening action preventing the knife from accidentally opening while you are in the water working. I do this periodically when I feel the knife action is too loose. Nothing more dangerous than an open knife when you don't expect it. Dive Safe.

Spyderco Atlantic Salt,
This review is from: Spyderco Atlantic Salt Rust Free Serrated Edge Knife (Sports)
I found out about the Atlantic Salt on KK's cool tools web blog. The knife is totally rust proof, made for divers, boat workers, anyone working around the water. I do not work around the water, but I love this knife. It's designed primarily as a rope cutter with the serrated blade and the rounded tip is for boaters so they don't stab their foot if the knife is dropped. I do not miss having a pointed tip at all. I have come to prefer the rounded tip - it's much safer.
I love the yellow handle; it's very light, and the clip keeps it secured in my pocket. It's a little larger than I would normally carry, but with the clip you will not notice it at all. I put a short lanyard through the hole at the end of the knife which makes it real easy to pull it out of my pocket. I find myself using the blade all the time. It is super sharp. The serrated blade will make short work of any cutting job. The blade opens easily with the large opening hole. I am left handed and many knives are not left hand friendly. This one is. I am very pleased to carry this knife daily.

I love this knife! I don't care what people say about it, it is great! No rust, nice cool yellow handle. The blade looks cool too! It comes really sharp also. It is 8 1/4 inches long, so it is pretty big! I would recommend it for anyone!

This knife is durable and dependable for use in and around salt water. I would definitely recommended it for that application.

Not sure what to say that hasn't already been said in the other reviews. Commercial quality, great weight, will not rust, very sharp, great balance, what more can a person want in a knife.
