5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Elegant
This little plain edge knife with VG-10 steel is a delight to own and use. The picture used on Amazon is not a completely good rendition of the actual knife. The picture makes the knife appear to have a mirror-like chrome finish, however, in reality it has a more of greyish, brushed metal finish. It is still very handsome, but not shiny. The knife and handle appear to...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the Cricket I Knew...
I owned the previous Spyderco Cricket. I missSpyderco C29P Cricket SS Lockback Knife that knife. It saved my life several times aside from being a super EDC knife. This model, though made in Japan, doesn't mean it's automatically great. Was it sharp? Yes! Did it open well? Yes. My primary issue with this Spyderco is that it felt CHEAP, like it was stamped out in a...

The knife and handle appear to be about 3.5 to 4 mm (roughly) with the clip adding another 3 to 4 mm in thickness to the overall knife. It is very easy to slip into the pocket and does not feel too heavy. The workmanship is top notch. My only reservation is that I will have to a little more careful as to not roll the tip of the knife when I eventually will have to sharpen it. As expected, this knife's factory edge is very sharp.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Everyday Carry, March 2, 2008
I'm a bit of a knife fanatic with many small expensive folders including Benchmade, Strider, etc. but I recently lost a cricket and have never missed a knife more. It's size, shape and weight make it perfect to drop in a coin pocket and forget about it until you need it. The blade shape and spyder hole makes it perfect for opening packages and a myriad of other everyday tasks. I've tried to find a different replacement knife but can't find anything that works better. Can't go wrong with this one and it makes a great gift.

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent knife, but tip dulls too fast!, September 20, 2005
By
I suppose that all knives dull too quickly for me, and this knife has outlasted my old victorinox blade (the "gold standard" 444 stainless steel) but sadly, the tip dulls rather quickly when used daily for everything from opening boxes to cutting apples. This knife has an excellent shape to use for home utility and picnic preparation. It is super easy to clean in the sink and doesn't rust. I have large hands and although this is a very small knife, it is easy to grip in several different ways making it useful for all sorts of daily tasks. I have had mine for several years, and when it gets dull, I have it professionally sharpened. The shape of the blade makes it impossible for me to sharpen it at home with my basic sharpening stone. If this one ever wears out (which I doubt) I will certainly buy another one. I have had about twenty knives over the years, and this is the only one that stays in my pocket and doesn't end up in the glove box or some junk drawer. I use it all the time at home. I even used it to cut carpet that I was installing, but I dulled it out in about a half hour.

5.0 out of 5 stars Constant Companion, December 30, 2009

I carry this knife every day (unless I'm flying). It's a very small knife, but perfect for most all around cutting, and piercing tasks. I prefer the plain edge rather than the serrated one because it cuts very cleanly, and I always prefer cutting to sawing. The curved tip is just great for cutting thin items like tape and cardboard, but it's a very strong and capable knife. It sharpens up very easily if you have a set of Spyderco triangular sharpening stones.

Sure you can get cheaper knives, but for a constant companion, it can't be beat. I also groove on the oval shape (when folded) and the design in general. The lock mechanism is an integral part of the handle which is ingenious.

I love this little knife. Its been missing for a week now, along with the $50 it was clipped to and I really miss it. I started using it clipped to the inside of my pocket and ended up using it as a money clip. It replaced all my other larger folding knifes. I am going to order another one, hopefully it will show up soon. This knife opens everything super smoothly and the special point on it really helps.

I carry this at work due to its less threatening stature. Its small but it cuts very well and stays sharp for a long time. No complaints here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Knife!, October 7, 2010

This is a great knife. It is a Spyderco, so that may go without saying. It is definitely compact, but that means you can carry it nearly everywhere without it filling up a pocket or needing a case. It is also a beautiful knife, the blade shape is great. The lock is solid, the clip is solid, it will actually hold on to your belt. Great knife.

This is a very sharp and well made pocket knife. The odd shape of the blade actually make it easier to open packages, and cut through anything. The blade is strong and sharp so be careful...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little knife, August 6, 2009

This knife is a great all day carry knife. The clip holds it to my pocket perfectly. The design is solid, the knife could not be sturdier. It's a great tool to have in case you need to slice the tag off of something, or slice open packaging, or as a security guard it is nice to have as a backup in case things get close. This knife is only about 4 inches long opened, and the blade is very small, only about 1.5 inches. The way it just fits into your hand however is perfect. I highly recommend Spider Co for their craftsmanship in making knives.
