Excellent knife!!, July 9, 2008
A close friend of mine has the Delica II version of this knife that came from NRS (National Ropers Supply). He has had it for years and loves it. I don't think he's ever sharpened it, and it could probably cut through rawhide. We both work with horses and other livestock, and the fully serrated edge ("SpyderEdge") is a must if you want to be able to quickly cut through rope or leather. The weight of the knife in your hand is good, and it slides in and out of your jeans pocket nicely. Note that the stainless finish WILL scratch up with use. Also, if you are regularly working in an environment where you will have sweaty hands, the stainless knife will be a little harder to grip.
Perrsonally, I have the "Delica 4" version of the knife. The price listed on Amazon as of this revision ($57.89) is pretty fair, though it's still difficult to determine which version of the knife they are selling (the older "Delica II" or the newer "Delica 4"). There are distinct differences, particularly with regard to the metal used in the blade. The "Delica 4" uses a harder/thicker steel in the blade, which makes the tip less likely to break. It also sports a few other upgraded features such as the ability to move the clip to either side and end of the knife. That said, the picture shown is STILL the "Delica II", which is still a fine knife, but the Product Descriptions reflect both versions as of this posting. I contacted Amazon and, despite being the ones who have it in their warehouse, they were unable to tell me the version and suggested I contact the manufacturer (who of course had no idea what Amazon had in stock).
That said, this is a GREAT price for this knife regardless of which one you get. These consistently sell elsewhere for $60-80 (for the DII) and $80-100 for the Delica 4. So either way, it's a deal. But if you happen to get the newer Delica 4, then it's an even sweeter deal. I suspect it actually ships from the manufacturer, in which case I'd buy with confidence.

Best knives around., March 9, 2007
Our company gives these knives away as safety rewards to our employees. We have been giving away Spyderco knives for over 10 years now and some many of the original ones are still in use. We get the knives laser engraved at a local trophey shop and they look awesome.
These things are great in either plain edge or spyder edger.

Only Knife for My Husband, December 31, 2009
This is the only knife my husband will use. He loves the feel and how it opens. He carries it with him everywhere.
