Product Description

Spyderco's dramatic Manix2 is a full-service folding knife that features our improved, patented Ball Bearing Lock. The hardened ball bearing that forms the heart of this high-strength lock is encased in a polymer cage that makes ambidextrous operation and release of the lock even easier. The lock is housed in a handle constructed of stainless steel liners and G-10 handle scales that feature strategically placed texturing at the edges for an exceptional grip. The blade is a Full Flat Grind and CPM S30V steel features textured jimping above a super-sized Spyderco Round Hole. These details guarantee positive one-handed deployment of the blade with either hand and a secure platform for the thumb during use. A three-screw, deep-pocket clip supports left or right-hand tip-up carry and a lined lanyard hole allows the attachment of safety lanyards or thongs.

I love this knife! It's clipped to my jeans as I write this. The Manix 2 Combo edge offers the best of both worlds having both a straight edge and the spyderco serrated edge on one super blade! It has a stainless liner with spine jimping and wrapped in the G10 grip material. Made in Golden, CO of 154CM blade stainless steel, it can be carried by either hand and comes with a lanyard hole for those who would use it. It opens and closes easily and securely. Like I said, I'm wearing it as I write this. Some might say it's a bit large for an EDC knife, that just depends on your needs for the day. I like wearing knives like choosing a watch. It's personal preference and depends on what you may need to do during your day. The Manix 2 is my go to knife. That really says it all.Spyderco Manix 2 G-10 Combination Edge Knife, Black

Spyderco knives are made in China, Japan and Golden CO. This is from Colorado and it shows! Its a top of the line knife, perfectly balanced, no sharp edges (except where it counts), Excellent quality and finish, solid as a rock. Can't go wrong wiht this knife.

Spyderco does it again. Big, thick and strong is the name of the game. Thick blade retains its full spine thickness until the last 1/2 inch pivots smoothly, nestled in between two full stainless steel liners, again sandwiched between two gripy black G-10 scales. The lock starts a bit stiff, but is SOLID. Also retains the blade closed very well until you put decisive pressure on the blade. This wont flip open in your pocket.

Belt clip is not low carry, but is strong and anchored with three screws. Lanyard hole is lined with a steel bushing, large enough to easily thread doubled 550 paracord through.

I was pleasantly surprised to find mine equipped with a CPM S30V blade, rather than the 154CM as well, but I cant say you will get the same.

The knife is really good. It's built sturdy and with quality. It's very sharp. Since getting it I've used it to cut through cardboard boxes and even plastic containers with ease. The combination edge gives you two good options for whatever type of job you are going to use it for. It's got some weight to it which is something I like in a pocket knife. The shape and width of the grip make it fit very comfortably in the hand. The only reason I didn't give it a five is the switch to close the knife is a little tricky and requires two hands to operate safely. Overall I was very happy with this product. Like most Spyderco knives it's very durable and sturdy, good for whatever job you need it for.

Once again less than 36 hrs after ordering my package was delivered on Sunday no less.Amazon rocks!
The Spyderco Manix 2 is absolutely a masterpiece of engineering and executed to perfection. And its nice to see its still made right here on Earth!a little place called Golden Colorado,USA i believe as its etched right on the blade tang. Very nice and an incredible bargain at under $90. Especially considering this is the latest generation model made with a Full Flat Grind of excellent S30V steel not the hollow ground 154 CM of previous model i was expecting. Only prob is i would have ordered the fully honed edge instead of the combo edge if i knew that. Oh well,at this price I'll order another and the XL version soon.
This truly is a very well designed and built knife. Beautiful and grippy G-10 scales over full stainless liners with excellent jimping everywhere its needed.and what a great handle shape.its close to perfection and gives many grip options with its dual finger choils and jimped thumb ramp on the blade.
The 1/8" by 3 3/8" long blade is scalpel sharp and has beautiful finish between satin and brushed.and the 14 mm spyder hole is the perfectly simple and elegant method of deploying the blade thanks to the glassy smooth pivot and low friction characteristics of the incredibly strong, safe and secure ball bearing lock. Not completely sold on liner/frame locks,im a big fan of Spydercos ball bearing and compression locks, being stronger, safer and less likely to be unintentionally unlocked during rough handling. The ball lock engages a very deep ramp on the blade tang and wedges itself against a substantial spacer or "anvil" itself secured w two good sized screws.

I really like this knife, it is built very heavy duty and feels very good in the hand. the scales are very grippy. I had previously bought the delica 4 and native but i did not like the way they fit my hand and i didn't like the lack of full liners. This knife, although a little big, fits the bill. I will warn you to be careful when closing as the blade will almost close on its own once you pull the lock back, so until you get used to it, keep your fingers out of the way. one thing i really like about it is that the blade is very secure when closed. i have had blades open up in my pants before and it it not a good situation.

I've been carrying one of these on duty since December of 2010, and it has given me trouble free service. It arrived shaving sharp, and has not needed any touch up since I have acquired it. It is not too heavy, as the liners are milled out, and the knife is slim, so it carries in the pocket very well. I like the deep index finger groove in the handle, as it will keep the knife from slipping back into your hand if you use it aggressively. It is a somewhat large knife, but has provision for choking up on it in order to use it for more delicate tasks. The locking mechanism is very sturdy and I have seen no loosening of it or any play in it after much use. It has a hole for a lanyard, which I have added. It is also configurable for left or right handed carry. The knife opens quite readily, even while wearing gloves. Lastly, I am outdoors a lot, and this knife sits in my pocket, collecting sweat and grime during the day. Even after a few weeks of not wiping it down with a lubricant, it has remained corrosion free. (Something I cannot say for a SOG in VG-10 I used to carry.)

I was recommending this knife back when it was over $90. Now Amazon has it for $75, or even less if you want the plain edge. (As of this review, anyway.) For that pricing, to get a high quality USA made knife is almost unheard of. Buy one, you won't be disappointed. Heck, buy two and give one away to a good friend!
