Product Description

The Native is indigenous to the U.S. Start to finish Natives are blueprinted by Spyderco?s engineers in Golden, Colorado. Their CPM-S30V blades, manufactured using powdered steel technology by Crucible Metals in upstate New York. Sheet steel arrives in Golden where its laser cut, ground, heat treated and finished. Native?s left/right, tip-up pocket clips are USA made. An American injection molder shoots FRN handles which are covered in Bi-Directional Texturing and have double finger indents for gripping high on the handle closer to the cutting edge for optimal control. Native components congregate in Golden, where Spyderco craftsmen assemble them and ship them to 53+ countries, where they proudly wear the title American Made Native.

3.0 out of 5 stars Expected Better, September 20, 2011

I purchased this knife after losing my previous spyder co and expected better. After reading the product description that this specific model was made in Colorado and not with Japanese metal that breaks. The reviews were good but its a little pricy so I gave it some thought and decided to buy it. I liked the knife till the second day when the tip of the blade snapped off! the plain edge dulled quickly but the teeth stayed sharp which is the reason I still like the knife.

5.0 out of 5 stars bad to the bone, May 30, 2011

I love the almost arrow head look to the blade. Solid made in the USA . I do not like made in china spyderco knives at all. It fits in your hand, like a fine glove . Perfect for every day carry or I buy only serrated ,so great for out doors if u can't shapen . I prefer the serated version as it cuts rope fast and stays sharp for ever . Pam spray makes for a good food grade oil and you'll love cleaning it with pam oil . Mineral oil is fine also .never use wd40 etc . Clean after each use . I bought the original Endura spyderco when they first came out seki japan steel and its like new after tons of use and some abuse. A plus , get the native

4.0 out of 5 stars My husband loves it, March 7, 2011

My husband told me a year ago he wanted a spyderco knife when we were walking around the mall one night and made our way into a knife store. He showed me the model he wanted and I wrote it down so that I could remember the model#. This knife was exactly like the one we saw in the store except the clip was on backwards. He said most clips on knives are on so that the knife can be flipped open easily when you pull it out of your pocket and this one is on in the opposite direction. Everything else about this product as well as the speed of delivery is fully satisfactory.
