Product Description

H1 is a PH steel meaning it is precipitation-processed alloy, that's rolled hard without heat treating and has .1% nitrogen which acts like carbon in the steel matrix, but does not react to chlorine making rust. Surprisingly, it holds a sharpened cutting edge comparable to the premium knife steels being used in the industry by most knife manufacturers.

I bought my Salt 1 almost 2 months ago and have carried it exclusively apart from all my other knives. Its the perfect size for every day carry, it will never rust, it's affordable, solid lock up, comes sharp and holds an edge well. I love the yellow handle, love the sabre grind, it has a larger deployment hole than any of my other Spydercos which is great.

I honestly do not think i would change anything on this knife. Quit reading my review and go buy one!!

I have used this knife while sea kayaking and rolling in brackish water on the Potomac. Although I have seen some reddish stains indicating the beginning of rust, I haven't seen any real rust yet. The knife is very sharp and the color will help in finding it if you drop it, but I always use a lanyard-which is easy to tie in the thumb hole.
