Ignoring price altogether, this smallest of the Rescue series by Spyderco just has it right. The only problem it has is that it is almost too ubiquitous, getting the job done without flash. Incredibly light, you will not feel its presence until you need it; then it will cut virtually anything with ease, while having an impressive lockup. Its only competition is Gerber's 22-41830 EAB, which cannot handle the serious tasks as well, but is still another must have, just because it folds up so compactly.Rescue 79mm - Spyder Edge; Gerber 22-41830 EAB Pocket Knife, Exchange A Blade

Any knife from spyderco is good, I got this knife as a seconded one I keep it in my EMT Jump bag, the blade length is kind of small for every day use. but its great for a back up.

I've been using Spyderco Knives for more than 25 years. Simply stated they make the best serated blade folding knives on the market. This model is one I've carried for cutting away seat belts for most of my career. The blunt rounded tip and wide spine allow me to drive it along the chest of a victim without any danger of cutting the victim. They cut the seat belt the first time every time, no fumbling to find the latch, leaning through a window across a victim, or need to pry twisted metal or plastic out of the way, just one push with the blade and I'm on to the next step. The thumb hole makes one handed operation easy and the clip holds the knife securely where I can reach it without it getting in the way. These were bought for my personal vehicles after a professional aquaintance worked an accident where one of the victims was unable to release his seat belt and succumbed to smoke and fire before the paramedics arrived on scene. . Place it in the center console of your car, it can be reached by the driver or front passenger after an accident quickly from there. Cover it so as not to make it a target for theft and place a window breaker along with it.
