5.0 out of 5 stars It is a great book!
At the start of WWII Jessie and her friends discover that their favorite teacher Miss Muller might be a Nazi spy! 3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good!
This book was good but it could have been better. After all that talk about Miss Muller being a spy it turned out that she wasn't. It got kinda boring at parts but it wasn't horrible. Some people may like it and some people might not. I thought it was good.

At the start of WWII Jessie and her friends discover that their favorite teacher Miss Muller might be a Nazi spy! Mo and Ida (friends of Jessie's) are so sure of this that they want to break into Miss Muller's room. They are sure that they will find a "dit-da-dit" machine. But Jessie and her other friend Lizzie Mag are sure of her innocence. So they come up with the idea of having a night watch on her only for fun and more immportantly to clear her name. But then one night there is an Air Raid. When they go down to the basement, Miss Muller is no where to be seen. Now Jessie and her friends are more sure than ever that she is indeed a spy!! This is a wonderfully written book that any boy or girl would enjoy. This story teaches you that looks can be deceving and that sometimes the truth is hidden where you would least expect it to be! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

4.0 out of 5 stars Spying on Miss Muller: a truly gripping tale, June 24, 2002

This review is from: Spying on Miss Muller (Mass Market Paperback)
This book really pulls you in and doesnt let you go. I found this book fairly hard to put down the first time I read it and the second and third time I saw the complexity of the storys MANY morals. There are alot of issues in this book, that during that area, were the subject of discussion everywhere. It represents how people could be so cold to someone else just because they are different and shows two sides to the story during the second World War, and most probably the most famous. What is really intergueing about this book is that it doesnt talk about the Holocaust very much. I found this a very unique and popular style, to write about what else was happening. All in all I give this book 4/5.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great historical fiction novel!, April 9, 2000

Mysterious, suspenseful, and a wonderful story! I think that Spying On Miss Muller was a great book. Jessie, Lizzie Mag, Ada, and Maureen, four thirteen-year-old girls, are best friends at the time of World War II. They are all in the same dorm in Alveara boarding school, which is located in Belfast, Ireland. Their dorm mistress is Miss Muller. She is beautiful, and looks like a movie star. However, she is half-German, and the gilrs don't like her very much anymore, because their country, Ireland, is going to war against Germany in World War II. One night, Jessie sees Miss Muller going to an off-limits part of the dorm. This gets her very suspicious, and she starts to think that Miss Muller may be a German spy for Hitler. The same night, a few hours later, Alveara has their first air raid, where Ian McManus kisses Jessie (Ian is a boy that Jessie is in love with). Although this is great, the following few weeks are scary. Jessie and her frinds find all kinds of evidence that shows that Miss Muller might be a German spy. They go spying on her at night to see whether she is or isn't a spy for Hitler. If you want to find out what happens, read the book. Spying On Miss Muller is a great book. It supports the proverb "don't judge a book by its cover", and shows through Miss Muller that sometimes appearances can be deceiving. The story is suspenseful, mysterious, and exciting, with a touch of humor here and there. I reccomend Spying On Miss Muller for kids 8 to 14 years old who like mystery and suspense. I loved reading Spying On Miss Muller, and think it is a great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my very favorite books!, February 7, 2000

Jessie, Lizzie Mag, Ada and Maureen are roommates (and best friends) at Alveara boarding school in Belfast, Northern Ireland. They have always loved their teacher, Miss Muller, who looks like Vivien Leigh. But now World War II is in action, and Miss Muller is part German. Jessie and her friends have reason to believe that the beautiful Daphne Muller is a spy for Hitler. But Jessie can't help but love Miss Muller, no matter what everyone else says about her. Where should her loyalty be? With her country, or with her true heart? This is a beautiful story. Everyone should read it.

This book is about a girl at a boarding school in the time of World War 2. She was about 13 years old. She is in Belfast, Ireland. She is in a dorm with 4 people who are her best friends. Their dorm instructor that they used to like turns out to be a half German. They get suspicious and start to spy on her. Will the girls find out what Miss Muller is really up to?
I rated this book 4 stars. It is very suspenseful. I think anyone above the age of 9 will like this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spying on Ms. Muller, December 3, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Spying on Miss Muller (Mass Market Paperback)
Jessie and her friends go to a bording school in Belfast, Ireland. They used to adore their German teacher, Ms. Muller, but now that a war is on against the Germans, she is hated and looked suspiciosly upon. Not to mention that there had been an air-raid on Belfast. This book is one of my favorite books. Not only does Eve Bunting make the time of WWII even more interesting by showing it through a kid's point of view, but the book is humorous, educational, exciting, and subtle all in one. Spying on Ms. Muller is well-written and gives a good sense of what life was like back when people had to hate all they had. I think the book has wonderful deep meanings and an intriguing plot.

PS:To the person below me....
It isnt about the Holocaust because there WERE other things happening in this era, and a good writer is supposed to explain EVERYTHING. Since everyone writes about the Holocaust, she wanted to take a different subject, which is uncommon amoung books but highly rated among readers. If you wanted something about the Holocaust you shoulve picked a different book! Obviously since this is centered in Belfast at the beginning of the war there was not much going on with the killing and such in Belfast, though it did start later on.

3.0 out of 5 stars Spying on Miss Muller, December 13, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Spying on Miss Muller (Hardcover)
The book spying on Miss Muller it didn't turn out the way i thought it would turn out. I thought she was a spy. I also didn't like how they went on about Miss Muller was a spy. Somethings in the book Ithought they shouldn't have added. I wouldn't say this really had to do with jews were treated. They did explain alittle bit about how jews felt toward half Germans. I dont think this was a very well writen book by Eve Bunting. I think she could have writen more about the Holocaust. So I think a three star rating is all this book is worth.
