What an awesome game! This is one of the best GameBoy games I've ever seen. The graphics are, surprisingly, bursting with color and sharpness, and it has very enjoyable music. You just want to jump into that cute little Spyro world. The game itself isn't very hard, it's the challenges! (The fire pixie challenges are incredibly annoying and frustrating.) Great for all ages-you'll never tire of this game. The characters are humorus and cute, and the game is very easy to understand. And you can play four characters: Spyro(of course), Sheila, Agent 9 and Sparx. Personally, my very favorite levels are the Spyro and Sheila ones. It's so refreshing when you finish an Agent 9 or Sheila level, and then you come out to a Spyro level, instead of doing the same levels over and over. Some of the worlds are even holiday based too, like Shamrock Isle is based on St. Patrick's day, and then there's Christmas(Winter Mesa) and Halloween(Haunted Hills)! Another cool thing about this is the neat angle from which you play. Some GameBoy games are oh-so-dull with the boring 2-D graphics. THIS is full 3-D and far from boring! In other words, UNBELIVEABLY AWESOME GAME!!!! GET IT!!!!!

As addictive as the PS1 games and cuter than ever,
This review is from: Spyro 2: Season of Flame (Video Game)
This is the first GBA game I've played, so I'm not sure how it holds up compared to other games on the platform, but it certainly holds true to the Spyro tradition, and this game is actually a lot more fun than the new PS2 game in the series. A slightly more diminutive Spyro explores several dozen imaginative levels, collecting gems, fireflies and solving puzzles/completing challenges along the way -- more of the same, perhaps, but it's still a lot of fun. The action is paced very well - you can progress quickly through the levels and go back later to finish up the more difficult or frustrating challenges later. All of the things that make the Spyro series great are here: a seemingly endless variety of foes and new landscapes to explore, fun sub-levels where you can play games or beat the clock in a variety of races and other scenarios, and a great sense of humor. The levels are among the most creative of ANY Spyro game, including some based on holiday imagery (Halloween, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas), ice, tropics, and even a candy-themed level! I would have loved to see some of these levels on a full-scale PS2 Spyro game. Although you can breeze through most of the levels pretty quickly, there's plenty to do after you're finished if you haven't collected all the gems and fireflies. The only real problem is controlling Spyro; as your viewpoint is rather diagonal, it's easy to misjudge which way you are going. There were times when I lost dozens of lives in a row because I couldn't quite get the angle right on a glide. It's very easy to fall off of edges, and there are a LOT of edges. While I'm not quite sure how this stacks up compared to other GBA games, it's certainly a worthy investment for a Spyro or platformer fan.

I was disapointed when I beat the game in a few hours, but I thought it was a great game when I started. It has nicely done 3D graphics, good re-play ability and good gameplay. It also has several mini-games.(2 I know of) One is a checkers game called Dragon Draughts and the other is called Sprax Panic which I've never played before. You can also play with Sheila (a kangaroo) and Agent 9 the space monkey each with their own UNIQUE levels. There are 19 levels including 4 levels with Sheila and 4 with Agent 9.As well as 3 overworlds (Sunny Plains, Celestial Plains, and Starry Plains with 1 boss in each overworld).I still play Spyro:Season Of Flame to get all of the gems and fireflies on each level to onlock Sprax Panic and to beat the game again and again.

This game is good. They added back some variety in that you have other characters to play again not just Spyro and Sparx. Sparx seems to have enlarged himself a bit in this one, making him easier to see. The graphics look excellent and the game is fun. I really liked the new atlas, it helps to show exactly what you are missing. Why did I only give it 4 stars? There is one annoying thing that bugs me. The screen seems "jumpy". It is almost as if it is anticipating where you are going to go, so when you stop the world stops moving and goes backwards to where you are. I found this to be my main complaint, after a bit, it kind of made me feel ill :)

I waited forever for the game to come out. Right when I got home from school I played it for hours. It even came with a pull out poster. It's challenging too.Funny, and FUN! I'm gonna get the strategy guide soon. You can even see where you are with the map when you press Select and L. I LOVE the game!!! It truly deserves more than 5 stars! Get Season of Flame today! By the way, Crush, Gulp, and Ripto are back in the game. Spyro will sure teach them a lesson!

This game is very well made. Its graphics look 3-D and its sounds are awsome!!! Its game play is very rewarding. When you defeat Ripto you get a checker game and if you defeat Ripto and get all 100 fireflies and gems (you can get all of these before AND after you beat Ripto) you unlock a sparx level!! There are also three worlds to visit. Not only do you play as Spyro, you also play as Shelia (the kangaroo) and Agent 9 (the space monkey). There are many cheat codes for this game. But one is, at the title screen enter up, right, down, up, right, left, up, right, down, B. You should hear a noise confirming this code. It will give you all breath abilities. (Including the power-ups!!) Overall this is a 5-star game.

Season of the Flame,
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Spyro 2: Season of Flame (Video Game)
This game is niether too hard or too easy. Spyro can glide, breath ice and fire, and charge. Shiela double-jump, stomps, and kicks while jumping. They explores several environments and complete challenges while catching fireflies and collecting gems. Agent 9 shoots, double-fumps, hides behind doors, and ducks. He collects gems and fireflies. Sparx shoots enemies and dashes away from them. Dragon Draughts(checkers)is playable on the menu. The other characters besides Spyro can get boring, in my opinion. Graphics are clear, full color, and in three dimensional. The storyline is practically nonexsistant.

Wow! A great game for your Game Boy Advance. Very fun. Not for the weak of heart-can get scary and extremly frustriating. A delightful game-lots of challenges- very nice graphics, sure to keep you entertained for hours. Challenges are similar to finding dancing horseshoes, collecting fireflies, beating bosses, and of course the ever present Ripto and his comrades. Great game!!!!!!!!!!
