3.0 out of 5 stars I'm On This Album...
Peace. I want to start by saying, only underground heads 21 and over will respect this album because most of you punks don't know who Erick is anyway. Although, it's not one of his greatest efforts, it still shows as a pioneer he surpassed many of his peers. Furthermore, I'M ON THIS ALBUM. I kept it real by rating it a 3. Sy Scott is one of the illest up and coming emcees...

Sy Scott is one of the illest up and coming emcees in the field. Check Lyricist Lounge II for further reference. And as far as I'm concerned, until you sit down and write a rhyme instead of email chatting, you can kiss...[off]. Just playin. I love ya'll. HIP HOP LIVES!!

Eric Sermon is one of hip-hop's legends. Unfortunately, the older you get, the less and less your music is heard. Artist become over the hill, I guess you can say. I wouldn't say Eric is over the hill or really old, but he does need to stop making music for the most part. This album took him awhile to make cause I read about it 2 years before it even came out. Eric is a hard worker when it comes to the hip-hop industry. This album on the other hand didnt even go gold. Maybe his decision to break up EPMD was the biggest mistake he ever made. There is many guest I loved on this album, such as Slick Rick, and the late Eazy E, make a couple of nice tracks, but with artist like Ja Rule made me look past this as an above average album. Lyrically Erick Onasis is nice, and the production is not all that bad, but this is no where near what I would have expected from the green eye bandit himself. I will leave the decision on purchasing this album up to you. I cant see new school kats feelin this, and not too many old school kats will either. ( new school kats won't feel this b/c they dont even know who Eric really is )

3.0 out of 5 stars Solid Album from old Friend, December 6, 2000

I was surprised to see only one review for this album. After all, it is from Def Jam, one of the most popular record labels.I have about 100 cd's, and i would have to say that this would be in the top 10-15.Although you're not going to get any worly insight on ths album, it will give you some great beats to bump in the ride. It's classic Sermon. The best two songs on the disc are Don't Get Gased, and the surprisingly mellow (for Sermon) Can't Stop. Other Highlights are Focus (with two of my favorites Xzibit and Quik)and So Sweet. Rick the Rulers verse on Why Not? is also solid. Suprisingly its the guest artists (Redman who's only tight on his stuff and a garbage guest MC, Shy Scott, Too Short) that really slip up on this album. Combine that with the fact that Erick is only an average rapper, and you could have disaster. Fortunally, Erick and his beats are in the best form they've been in in years, and this makes for a pretty good album
