It had to happen: The ultimate throw-down between the two stars of the smash hits Supreme Power and Squadron Supreme: Hyperion and Nighthawk. But what could draw these two heroes into the biggest of all smackdowns? Nothing less than genocide. In this ripped-from-the-headlines story, Marc Guggenheim (Wolverine, Blade) and comic-book legend Paul Gulacy (Master of Kung Fu) explore the real-world tragedy going on right now in Darfur, Africa. The most thought-provoking and action-packed book you'll read all year! Collects Squadron Supreme: Hyperion Vs. Nighthawk #1-4.
A native of Long Island, New York, Marc practiced law at one of Boston's most prestigious firms for over four years before leaving to pursue his dream of writing professionally. That legal experience led to a staff position on David E. Kelley's Emmy-winning show about Boston attorneys, "The Practice." That same year, he sold his screenplay, "Musical Chairs," to Sid Sheinberg's The Bubble Factory.
These opportunities led to an invitation to join the writing staff of "Law & Order," where he wrote for three seasons before moving on to the critically-acclaimed series "Jack & Bobby," and later, the ratings juggernaut "CSI: Miami." It was "Jack & Bobby" that introduced Marc to Greg Berlanti and the two resolved to create a show together, a pact which led to the development of Eli Stone, for which they received a Writers Guild Award nomination for Best Drama Teleplay.
That year, Marc added comic books and videogames to his growing body of work. His first published comic book was a two-issue story for DC's "Aquaman," which he parlayed into two critically-acclaimed runs on Marvel Comics' premier super-hero, Wolverine. In November 2007, Marc launched his first creator-owned series with Oni Press, entitled Resurrection, which has been optioned as a feature film by Universal Pictures.
Marc's other comic book credits include Amazing Spider-Man, Young X-Men, Supreme Power, Superman/Batman, The Flash, Blade, Super Zombies and Galactica 1980.
His videogame work includes: "Call of Duty 3," "Perfect Dark Zero," and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which was nominated for a WGA Award for Best Writing.
But Marc hasn't left television. While writing and producing the Eli pilot, Greg pulled Marc in to help him produce the first season of "Brothers & Sisters," which has become a Top-20 hit for ABC, where he now has a development deal.
Marc continues to collaborate with Greg as a co-writer on the feature film version of "Green Lantern" to be directed by Martin Campbell for Warner Bros.
Marc currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Tara (a fellow TV writer and WGA nominee, who is co-creator of the CW dramedy Reaper), their daughters, and their cat Rocky.

It's not perfect, but this book successfully raises awareness of the genocide in Sudan through the unlikely medium of superhero comics. Not only that, Guggenheim gives a very nuanced take on the crisis. Like most mass slaughters, it is one conducted right in front of ambivalent or disinterested publics. Governments, including the US, maneuver cynically while do-gooders are frequently misguided in their attempts to put things right. This is not an optimistic book by any means, but it's not a situation that causes much optimism. Not for people looking for a quiet distraction, but for those who like their fiction--graphic or otherwise--thought-provoking and challenging.

good read for anyone who's followed the SUPREME POWER/SQUADRON SUPREME. Even if you haven't followed that story line, this story is independent from other story arcs. FYI, Hyperion is Marvel's take on what superman would have been like if the government found and raised him & nighthawk is Marvel's take on batman if he was black and his parents were murdered by a racist. Great story line.

"The Human Hand has at least twenty-seven bones." You see Nighthawk with his fist up and Hyperion right in front of him, "Fourteen of those a phalanx bones, also known as "digital" bones because they make up the fingers or "digits" Flashback of Nighthawk training by punching a brick wall "those bones are porous, with tiny holes in them, But repeated trauma re-forms the bones, filling in the holes and making them more dense." " Making them less susceptible to fractures and as hard as Hammers" cut to Nighthawk pulling back for the punch and he thinks to himself "So here we Go." If you don't Know much about the "Supreme Power/ Squadron Supreme" Title think Marvel's take on the DC universe and this story is like Superman Vs Batman, you see the thoughts of both Charters points of view, this book makes Nighthawk look much more of a bad ass, the story is a little short but it's soild
