I figured this was just bad luck so i decided to return it and order a replacement.

The amount of force I had to put into switching the hands could have easily broke the figure, but thankfully that didn't happen.

Overall, this is a rather durable figure with durable accessories, and wonderful detail.

My only complaint is that he should have had a peg in his back for is huge buster sword. This is the best detailed cloud ever made and his joints are good. Final fantasy and play art fans will love this figure. Not ment for kids, collectors who can play and pose only. Cloud is too pretty to be destroyed. A must have! Hope this review hepls.

I'll start off by saying that I've owned every Play Arts Cloud Strife action figure to date, save the Crisis Core version, and even though it's based off of his Dissidia appearance and not FFVII (the main differences being he has black boots instead of brown, the SOLDIER emblem on the front of his belt is brown instead of silver, the left shoulder pauldron is a tad different in design, and his hair isn't nearly as vibrant of a yellow), it's close enough to make this the hands down the best figure to date. I say this based on the overall sculpt, detail, paint and articulation being superior to any other version to date.

Pros:

Sculpt - The head sculpt captures his likeness perfectly from the Dissidia PSP game series, which is an excellent representation of the Mako infused hero of FFVII, and better than any other face sculpt that can only be challenged by the Crisis Core version. The hair shows strands in the detail and looks great from every angle. The texture of the turtleneck shirt is realistic and something none of the other versions based on his game design share. He actually has some definition to his arms this time around too! Previous versions had no detail and gave him the appearance of having noodle arms. Also, the bare shoulders have a much more natural look to them with some definition, and actually function better as a result of the better design.

Articulation - The articulation is excellent on this figure, and far superior to any other previous version. The biggest differences being that this version actually has a mid-torso joint, ball-jointed elbows, wrists and feet that can go side-to-side on top of being able to twist them 360°, and double-jointed knees. These joints allow for greater range of motion, which allows for more dynamic posing (i.e.

Excellent figure. If you like FinalFantasy or Cloud I'd reccomend. Joints allow for some pretty nice poses. Detail to figure is great. Only downside I found was it does not some with display stand.

Having purchased at least three Play Arts figures already and seeing that they are of fine quality and detailing, I knew that I was not going to be disappointed by this figure. I am definitely happy with my purchase! The wonderful attention to details, the posing options are excellent; although a base would have been nice. That doesn't mean you couldn't stand this one up without it, the figure is quite stable if you can position the feet just right. Looks like I will continue to collect more Play Arts figures, as they do not fail to impress.

The day I got my Cloud I showed the whole damn family. Being as we all grew up on the Final Fantasy series my brothers wanted to play with it. In about 2 seconds he snapped Cloud's right hand off. I tried every glue available but the weight of the Buster sword pulled it right off again. :/ I'm still mad, but I still proudly display Cloud. Albeit with a bandaged arm.. Still very cool toy. Keep away from children though. (My brother is 24, still a kid.)

I only wanted to get one version of Cloud strife. Mainly because all the other ones were a little to expensive and it took me forever to find a satisfying Sephiroth figure(that would be the version two Sephiroth I bought from Kotobukiya, see my review for that one if your looking for Cloud's polar opposite to have him fight with or just bookend your collection of games or action figures, its the best Sephiroth in my opinion)to serve as my opposing figure to Cloud. This Cloud figure though, satisfied me completely and I haven't had any trouble with him yet. The figure is made of a durrible design and can take quite a bit of punishment if you want to play with him, play with him gently though. His hands are designed with no pegs and attach themselves to the arms through a toothpick sized joint connected to the arms, be careful with these types of joints because they look a little weak. His body design is detailed with thicker arms than previous versions and stronger legs that won't break as easily as the advent children version, I know that because one of my younger brothers bought that version and it was rather....disappointing. But anyway, this Cloud has good detail, a fantastic paint job, and is rather durable. The sword is some sturdy stuff. Its thick, sharp, and looks like something you would find with a collection of kitchen knives,(keep the sword away from children too, it could do more damage to them than they could to it.) One thing I will say though is the sword is so heavy, Cloud has a hard time supporting it with his arms, so when I pose him he is usually holding it in his classic over the shoulder pose.Read more ›
