The only down-side is that a medical student once commented, after looking at it upended on my desk, that the hammer resembled her dog's penis.
If you don't want to do that and you want to carry it,buy a telescoping model (which this one is NOT) or buy a smaller one.
Most of the time the Babinski hammer is smaller than this one and may fit into your pocket. Babinski hammers are also lighter with a smaller head. In my hands nothing beats a Queen's Square hammer and the collapsing ones don't feel as solid, but you have to not mind the bulk of it. The rubber on the black head will tend to stain you white coats at the level of the button where you thread it.

Much easier than using a standard hammer to illicit a reflex. Great for students learning reflexes but is quite large and a bit annoying to carry around. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Dj
Overall nice product. The top swivel becomes loose and and cannot be adjusted to tighten, so it becomes flimsy and non-functional after a short amount of uses. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Ozzie@CPTX
