I bought this bulb because I suspected I had seasonal, light-related depression. It's hard to tell if it is the reason for sure, but I do feel better since installing it in my work room where I spend much of my time. It is a very large light, but it fits into a standard socket and extends out 9 inches from the socket. It's 4" in diameter. It gives off a pleasing, bright light.

I purchased this for use in my photo studio. I was not disappointed. It casts a good balance (auto whitebalance works fine with it) with a bright light. Very well packed. Do be aware - these are BIG - and do get hot (but nothing like a 250 watt lightbulb!)

the light bulbs works great,but because of its size almost 11 inches it wiil be more apropriate in a large lamp.so it will not fit a small desk or table lamp.

I bought a few of these lights for photography and they work great. I can even use them with natural sunlight. The only thing is that the bulbs are gigantic, about 4 times the size and weight of a regular fluorescent bulb, so make sure you have an appropriate light fixture or lamp before you buy.

I purchased this bulb (2 of them) to use in 2 seperate 18 inch globe outdoor yard lights. The bulb is rather large (about 12" tall) so take this into consideration. I wanted something that would produce a lot of light without high comsumption of electricity. The full spectrum or the tint of the blub has a very pleasing look. The lights in the back of our house now appear yellow compared to the full spectrum bulbs which has prompted me to replace them with full spectrum bulbs.

This bulb is a whopping 11" long, shines really bright, and comes with a great storage option!! The foam frame in the shipping package should be kept to properly store the bulb when not in use. I now own two of these and a strobe light.

Pros: --Works as advertised producing a mostly pure white light
--Have had two of these for about 3 months now and they haven't failed me yet.
--Bulbs don't get very hot, even after hours of use.
--Shipping package can easily be used as a storage meduim for the bulb
--Fits a standard lighting socket

Cons: --Bulb tends to touch the umberella arm while in use because of it's size and shape.
--Pretty expensive for one bulb
--Bulb is too freaking big!

I only have one kitchen socket in ceiling that is connected to dim-able switch. the kitchen is dark, so i replaced the old light with that one. when i turned on, my neighbor cross the street had to shutdown their blinds lool

This light wayyy wayy very bright, we got used to it now and we love it. the whole light will stick out the socket by the way.

wont look good in floor lamp unless the shade is tall enough to surround the whole light which i doubt you will find such shade.

if you can find a nice white shade to cover that light, it will be amazing for SAD. other wise it will be tooo bight to use it for SAD

I used this bulb to replace a 300w I have in the garage. In that respect it works as expected. My only problem is that it takes about 5 minuites to get up to full brightness.

These lights are wonderful! They suck down a under quarter the power of My old 400watt metal-halide lights, yet are just as bright, with a good spectrum for viewing and growing! I use them for photography as well as to keep My potted fruit trees happy indoors over the winter. Far too bright for normal in house use, but perfect for anything that requires a lot of light. This is the same brightness to My eyes as My Feliz 250watt cfl, yet at 17 duckets, vastly cheaper and better range of color. Best grow/photography/shop light I've ever encountered. I had never heard of the Square Perfect brand before, but I like what I'm seeing with these bright, affordable, mostly cool running lights.. The ballast(in the base) does get too hot to pack right away after a photo shoot, it takes 30 minutes to cool enough to put back in it's styrafoam packaging.. Not an issue for growers, or those looking for a single bulb to illuminate a large room. They even take the normal edison screw that every house has unlike any other bulb of this brightness. I constantly recommend these bulbs to people! I'll be buying more...

This is a large light bulb, and arrived in perfect condition. The heat produced from the bulb is minimal, and for drawing just 85 watts it's very bright.
