Typically, I never buy extended warranties on anything - they just don't seem worth the cost and usually the service is not that great either. For some reason, I decided to buy the Squaretrade warranty because it was really reasonably priced - like $10 a year. Am I ever glad that I purchased it.

I had my Lumix knocked out of my hands while taking a picture at a car show. It hit the walkway and I immediately realized there was problem with the lens cover. It would not close when the camera was powered off. All attempts to get it working failed.

I called customer service and they emailed me a shipping label to send the defective product to their repair center. Lucky me, the repair center was a couple miles from my house.. so I packed the camera off to them - and that SAME evening I got an email notifying me that the camera was not repairable and that a $$$ amount was sent to my Paypal account. WOW - Same day.

I have ordered the replacement camera from Amazon (naturally) and as soon as it arrives, I am signing up for another warranty with Squaretrade.

I purchased a brand new digital camera from ebay a little over a year ago. One day the camera worked perfect and the following weekend it just wouldnt work. It had not been dropped or damaged or anything just up and stopped working. Thank goodness I purchased a warrenty through Squaretrade. At first I was like nah I dont need to purchase a warrenty but something said hey for the extra $8.00 just go for it, and I am so glad I did. The regular manufacturer warrenty runs out after a year and here it was a month after that year and the camera no longer works. For that extra $8, Squaretrade gave me a 3 yr warrenty and it was hassle free. They paid for the shipping, they were in touch with me via email letting me know what was going on, and they were quick. If they can fix your item they do, if not you get back what you paid in full and returning the money was very quick, it was all done in about a weeks time. I would highly recommend them and you can believe I will use them again with any electronic item I purchase.

I own a Squaretrade warranty for all my important items. Items are covered fully, and I've never had an issue when filing a claim

I'm not sure I can say enough good things about SquareTrade and my experience with them. I've bought two warranties over the years--one for an iPad, one for a Canon digital camera. Both were purchased with AHD (accidental handling damage) coverage. Well my wife's camera took a turn for the worse so I though rather than continuing to struggle with it and perhaps have it die entirely during an important trip, why not contact SquareTrade and file a claim. Couldn't have been more painless. Not only did they take the claim and provide me with a prepaid UPS label, the full purchase price coverage was in my hands in the form of an Amazon gift card before they even received the damaged unit back at their warehouse! I recommend SquareTrade to all my friends, and certainly anyone looking for affordable coverage on their consumer electronics.

I'll never buy a piece of electronics and not get a square trade warranty along with it. This company does business exactly as advertised, no hassle, no playing games, too bad every complany can't operate this way. I bought a square trade warranty when a bought our last Panasonic Lumix camera because our last few cameras didn't last more than a couple years. During a recent trip to Hawaii our camera stopped working right in the middle of our trip. When we got home a found the receipt for the Square Trade Warrany. We only had a few days before the warranty expired so we called customer service and within a few minutes we had a prepaid shipping label to send the camera in for repairs. Two days later we received a email saying the camera couldn't be fixed and a check was in the mail. WOW! So easy...great company. Highly recommend.

Particularly for electronics which are delicate, it may come in handy. If something does go wrong, then you can recover.

I had the accident protection plan warranty on my previous camera body throughs square trade and another for my lens through Mack camera. Both took a spill into a puddle and we're completely totaled. I sent in both claims and not only was square trade amazingly quick, they were also very good about letting me know how things were going with my gear which is very important when running a photography business. Mack didn't keep me posted whatsoever on the status of my lens and made me pay shipping as well. Square trade paid for shipping, let me know when the camera was being checked, and then let me know a few days later that it was beyond repair. They gave me a full refund of the item price and kept me posted in the status of that payment. Love this company!

I purchased a warranty on my Kodak Max in 2011 which will run thru 2014. After many pictures the camera malfunctioned 3 times, once for Flash, once for overexposure, and one for zoom control. Each case was approved by ST and door to door repair and delivery was done is less than a week. The latest was shipping last Friday and returned to me today Wednesday. My only issude is that one the last two repairs tha vendor gave no detain of what was done to the camera. I had to call them and they were very helpful and forthcoming about what was replaced.

I just purchased a ST warranty with a new camera I purchased last month to replace one for my wide who dropped her last camera on concrete with the lens extended. Warranty was thru OM and was expired.

I purchased a used camera on eBay. It was for my teenage son to take to Europe. He's usually pretty careful, but I thought as a precaution, I would get the square trade warranty. It seemed a little pricey compared to what I paid for the camera. And I was skeptical about all the fine print. But I went ahead and did it anyway.

I was really glad I did. When the camera failed a couple months later, I submitted a claim. They sent me a UPS sticker, with the postage already paid for. Within a couple weeks, I got the price I paid on eBay credited back to me. There was no hassle, no trying to get out of paying it, or anything.

I'd highly recommend purchasing the warranty - especially for any used electronic equipment with a chance of failure.
