I purchased this replacement/refund policy for my new Epson 8350 projector because of its iron-clad guarantee that: 1)one would NOT have to pay for shipping if necessary, 2) replacement parts would not be third party or refurbished, 3) the projector bulb is covered against failure, and 4)coverage starts on the day you receive the item.

Instead, when you actually receive the policy (in an email) and get to read it over carefully (which one really should do), I found a long list of exclusions, including non-coverage on "consumer replacement parts" ; the projector bulb is NOT covered against failure, replacement parts can be third party (non-manufacturer) or refurbished or rebuilt - not NEW, OEM as described on amazon, and, if the projector is to be replaced "SQUARE TRADE" can do so with a "like" model or a refurbished model - their choice. Also, the owner is responsible for shipping charges.

I do not understand the apparent 180 degree turnaround in wording/coverage from what is advertised on amazon versus what is in writing on the contract one receives in electronic format. Usually Amazon is right on the mark and money with what is sold on their website. It doesn't appear to be this way this time with this insurance policy. Beware, review this policy carefully, as what is in writing is what you get.

I bought a GPS off of eBay almost 2 years ago. I paid $20 for 2 years insurance from Square Trade. After 20 months, my GPS screen failed and I registered a claim with Square Trade. Their process was simple, efficient and absolutely excellent. Within a few days my claim was processed, approved and the full amount of what I originally paid for the GPS, was paid out to me ... without any resistance.

This was by far the greatest insurance experiences I have ever had. I highly recommend purchasing Square Trade insurance on any electronic product you purchase ... I surely will in future.

i have had great experiences with square trade.have several warranties.had to use 2 and had great service.my only problem would be when i call i cant understand the person on the other end at times.other than that 100% satisfied with service and price.

We purchased a Magellan GPS in 2009. Since it was refurbished We decided to purchase a Square Deal Warranty. Ihe unit performed well until it died last month. One call to Squade Deal and my problems were solved. They sent us a check refunding the full purchase price. We purchased a new Magellan GPS and again bought a warranty from Square Deal. We are happy campers!!!

SquareTrade's 4-year electronics warranty was purchased for me as a gift, along with a radar detector. The process of buying the warranty and transferring it over to my name was straightforward and took very little time. Within days I received a letter welcoming me, along with information about my extended warranty. I also received a phone call to confirm that I received my materials, and asking whether I had any questions. I have had no need to rely on my warranty thus far, but I am very happy with the customer service.

I called the company to ask a few questions about this deal because I had never purchased a SquareTrade deal before. The warranty starts on the first day that you purchased your product, regardless of when you purchased your SquareTrade warranty. My product already has a one-year warranty, and so during the first year I have both my product's warranty and this SquareTrade warranty. My understanding is that you generally want to make use of your product's warranty first, and if it fails, then the SquareTrade warranty kicks in. If something with my product cannot be replaced or fixed, then I will either get a new product or get back the full value of my product.

While I do not often use Square Trade, other than for purchasing a warrenty, which is always much lower in cost, as compared to others, such as Sears, etc.
I have not had problems when using ST, usually those that do, are ones that do not understand how the warrenty works, so ask question before you buy.

We purchased a warranty on a used TomTom in February. It failed in Nov. We filed the claim online and Square Trade emailed us the link to print a prepaid shipping label to send the unit in for verification of the problem. Within 2 days we received a full refund. Everything is done online very easily and far more affordable than in-store warranties. We have bought their warranties on all of our electronics. Well worth considering for your purchases.

I purchased a SquareTrade Warranty for My TomTom One. After 11 months it stopped working, I contacted Squaretrade, sent the item back and they checked it out and refunded my full purchase price. The entire process took less than 5 days start to finish. These are great folks to deal with.

I recommend purchasing a warranty for small electronic items. I purchased a 3 year warranty for a GPS and needed it a year later. The warranty was no hassle and a prompt refund was sent to me as well as a prepaid shipping label to return the defective product.
I purchased another warranty when I purchased another GPS. I have peace of mind. Priceless!
