Lot's of miscommunication. Repair took FOREVER
on February 17, 2014
I originally sent my phone off back in October. They charged me my $99 deductible and were very fast at fixing the phone and sending it back to me.
I noticed shortly after that the headphone jack was not working properly and that the charging port which they originally repaired was already starting to mess up again. Every single time that I called in over the next few months it seemed like they have two separate things going on and one side can't communicate to the other. At least 4 or 5 times I would call to get a packing slip and the agent would tell me "OK sir you are all set up, you should have it shortly" and then nothing would come. I called back each time and then heard "oh well it didn't process because of such and such reason and I have another one on the way sir, you should see it shortly". One time they even said it was the previous guys human error in entering the claim. And yet the label never came.
Another thing that bothered me is, that because it was a "re-repair" being done on a previous claim , the return label had to come directly from the repair depot which would take "2-3 days" extra. Which of course, never came either because their computer system rejected the claim since it wasn't within 30 days of the first repair (the delay was due to them).
After about 7-10 phone calls, all of at least 15 minutes in length, I finally was told "that they were making an exception for me and not changing me the deductible again". In the end the phone did get repaired and returned very quickly. But getting from point A to point B was ridiculous. And the fact that they only warranty their repairs for 30 days is also ridiculous. After that you have to pay a deductible again. That does not give me confidence in their repairs.
I used to love Squaretrade and promote it to all my friends. But its now big business and a pain in the rear like everything else.
