SquareTrade 3-Year Samsung/Panasonic TV Warranty ($1000-1250 LCD, Plasma, LED)

I purchased a 42" flat screen tv a few years ago, and was naturally concerned about what to do after the 1 year manufacturer's warranty had expired. The store offered its own extended warranty program, but I was hesitant about putting down hundreds of dollars for a 3 year extended warranty. Surely there was something more economical with the same, or better service?

I heard, via word of mouth, of a third-party alternative called Squaretrade. Intrigued, I checked reseller ratings, and was very shocked to see a lifetime rating of 9.7. I read many of the reviews, and they all consistently praised ST's dedication to fulfilling its warranty promises. Of the few that were not pleased with ST service (and some of them were the customer's fault), I was impressed by the follow-up messages left by ST's representatives to resolve the situation.

Convinced, I ended up purchasing a 3 year warranty through Squaretrade, for just ~$40. ST runs monthly %-off discounts, so you can always get a very good bargain. To clarify, if I remember correctly, the 3 year warranty is really a 2 year warranty, since the first year overlaps with the first year of the manufacturer's warranty. However, you should read the fine print to double check.

Talk about knocking on wood. My TV broke recently, and so I submitted my claim form to ST, which primarily comprised faxing a copy of my receipt to them (don't throw it away!), and describing my problem. I was expecting a reply a few months later, but Squaretrade promises resolution in less than week. I was shocked to find in my email inbox, a message from ST indicating that since it was cost prohibitive to ship my TV back to them for repairs, they would instead be refunding my original purchase price in its entirety, through PayPal. Sure enough, the money was sent the next day.

This is legendary service, the kind consumers dream about. You can buy a ST warranty with complete confidence, and be assured of their guarantees. Regarding TVs, they will not cover certain issues, e.g. burn-in on a plasma, and lamp replacements on DLPs. Again, check the fine print (don't worry, there's not too much to read).

I'm going to be buying all my warranties through ST in the future, recommending them to my friends and families, and making sure my children, and my children's children buy Squaretrade warranties. I wholeheartedly recommend them (and no, I'm not getting paid by ST to write this review).

I purchased a refurbished Samsung Monitor/TV Last July 2008. It died this June 2009 I was approved very fast for replacement of the full amount I paid for it. I ordered another monitor... a bigger one and brand new! I paid fifty dollars more for a Samsung 240HD LCD TV/Monitor and I got it yesterday. I am one happy camper! My money was credited to my PayPal account... Because I purchased my first monitor w/PayPal. I bought my new Monitor on Amazon and I will transfer the money from PayPal to my bank account and will have time to do that before the bill comes due on the new monitor! I am a customer for life! Not only do they sell warranties for 50% or less than most manufacturers and retail stores... They give you great service at an affordable price!!!

Very straightforward and simple. Not a load of "fine print" junk like you usually get with warranties! Well worth it!

I am still a bit confused with my SQUARETRADE 3-YEAR WARRANTY. I have not received a thing to let me know what I purchased other than a e-mail conformation on my purchase. I e-mailed SQUARETRADE and they said it was a paper less warranty and the conformation had the e-mail site to visit if you have any problems. So if I have any problem will find out.

Square Trade Warranty is THE BEST warrany company! I bought a TV for my Daddy last Christmas and just a week ago the silly thing just stopped turning on.
A TV repair person checked it out and said it was "on the blink" so I notified square trade. They could not replace it so they
refunded me the money to buy my daddy a new one. THANK YOU!! I will use you for ALL warranty needs you can count on that!
(This was NOT the first time! Two years ago I had purchased a GPS that had just stopped working after a year and Square Trade refunded this one for me as well. I was able to buy another GPS but you can be sure I bought a Square Trade Warranty with it!)

Had problems with three items purchase on ebay that failed after a year. Squaretrade warranty, gave me info on how to reset my ipod and paid the other two. Outstanding service where you actually get the warranty you pay for. A++++++++++++

I usually never buy extended warranties. This one was two good to pass up. Way cheaper than the ones that are offered in the stores. I hope I never need to use it but it certainly gives you a little peace of mind. The process was simple and all done on-line. The company contacted me by phone afterwords to make sure I understood the terms and that I was satisfied. I would highly recommend this warranty.

I purchased a refurbished DVD player from ecost.com. After letting it set for three months I hooked it up only to find it was DOA. The sellers warrantee had expired but fortunately I had Squaretrade to fall back on. They were prompt in handling the claim and reimbursed the entire amount and provided free return shipping. It just doesn't get much better than that.

So I read reviews about this, felt good about purchasing it for my tv and I have not received any call on this or anything, no idea how this works and I spent about $169 or so on this.

I would have thought I would at least get a call to tell me how this service works
