SquareTrade 4-Year Samsung/Panasonic TV Warranty ($1000-1250 LCD, Plasma, LED)

I had to cancel a TV purchase because of delivery problems, then reorder it. So I also had to cancel my first Squaretrade warranty. Then I got an email from squaretrade soliciting my business for the replacement TV with an offer of a 10% discount. Seems nice, right? But Squaretrade instead jacked up the price on the warranty for the replacement TV (same brand/model) - jumping from $139 to $275, even though the price for the reordered TV was $200 LESS! I called them and their fast-talking rep gave me lots of nonsensical excuses, but not a single solid reason. I don't know if this is their new way of doing business, since they have mostly great reviews, but I certainly feel cheated. Be very careful when dealing with them, and get everything in writing before you pay - their phone reps WILL NOT give you a straight answer. I've written to them about this, and will update this review if I get a substantive response.

I returned the TV this warranty was for and SquareTrade gave me no hassle also returning the warranty. I did this within 30 days of purchasing it. A refund was credited to me in a timely enough manner.

My son recommended getting this plan so I did. I hope I never have to use it ( which would mean the TV would never have any problems ) ! However I did receive the contract as noted, and when I called to ask questions about registering the TV to the contract, the people were very nice, not rushed, and willing to answer all questions. They even encouraged me to call back if I had any more questions.

With a start like this, I expect any needed use of this contract will probably be handled just as well.

But then, I hope the TV never fails and I never have to use the service plan ....

I purchased a SquareTrade warrantee for a new 46" Toshiba LCD TV.

When a red line started appearing on the screen (dead pixels), I contacted them. I was asked to take a few photo shots of the screen to email to them - which I did.

I was then contacted by a company they partner with (technicians maybe?) and was asked to send THEM a few fotos of the screen. A day later the technician called to let me know the TV was not repairable and I should contact SquareTrade Customer Service.

I called SquareTrade and spoke to a nice guy and, based on a similar set on the BesBuy website, I was offered $699 to replace my TV; which I accepted. It was deposited directly into my PayPal account. Though my original set was about $1,400, I know that electronic prices keep dropping as new sets come out - that's why I accepted the $699. Besides, I can put the broken set in the kids room for their video games - with so many graphics on the screen they may not even notice the red line.

The whole process took about a week - which I think is very commendable. If I had to do this locally, I would probably be without a set for more than a week. --- Veliko Bekir

I purchased this Square Trade warranty on a brand new Vizio tv which I purchased on Ebay in 2011. I was using this tv in my bedroom so it was not being turned on a lot. Then one night I went to turn the tv on and all I got was a blue screen. I immediately emailed Square Trade and they told me what I needed to do. I disconnected the tv and found a box and good packing material and mail out the tv to the address on the prepaid UPS label that Square Trade furnished. The next week I was sent an email by Square Trade that my check was in the mail. They sent me a check for the total cost of the tv and no other questions were asked. I recommend that everyone purchased a Square Trade warranty on anything they buy as they are a great company to do business with. They are reliable, dependable, and very fast in settling claims. They are a great company !!!

I purchased a extended warranty on a Sony HDTV I bought in 2008. The TV just went out and the fee for fixing it was $1400. The estimate was given by a local technician that the warranty company sent out. Within a day I received a email and phone call to see if I wanted it repaired, or have a check for the replacement cost of a comparable HDTV. They gave me a list of sets that were comparable and let me decide. About 2 days later I called back and decided to take the check which came to $1100 and ordered me a set that is much better than the one that I had. The extended warranty was well worth the money. Very reasonbaly priced.

squaretrade is just as their name inidates. I have nothing but good things to say about them. their reps are outstanding. Payment or repair are always hassle free. greatest warranty service on the planet

Had a Vizio VT420M's sound go haywaire, Imagine that LOL. long story short, withion 3 weeks i ha d a refund check for the purchase price of the TV. Just bought a Smasung 47" LCD and a 4 year warranty along with it.

I purchased the warranty and was send e-mail confirmation. It advised me that I need to register. Yet there is no way I could do it. Their registration site is crappy and would not accept the order / e-mail address. Then there is a phone number to call to. I was waiting for 15 minutes and auto answer advised to to call later.
Is that what I paid for???

I guess that it is a good thing that I have not had to use the warranty...but it is good to know that it is there if something goes wrong. Great warranty at a very good and reasonable price. No regrets.
