Sound went out on my 37" LCD TV after about 6 months. Thought I'd have a long drawn out process of shipping my TV somewhere or waiting on a repair... instead SquareTrade responded to my claim (made on their website, very easy) the next day and told me they'd reimburse me for the full amount of my television. Just printed the attached affidavit, signed it, scanned it, and e-mailed it back to them. The money was in my paypal account two days later. Best money I've ever spent.

Until not long ago I had always shied away from extended warranties, mianly because of the excessive expense and I accepted the risk that the items wouldn't fail. Then I became acquainted with Square Trade and their low prices compared to all the other providers that I have found. Upon purchasing an expensive plasma Panasonic HDTV I was sure the TV would not fail in a few years, but because of Square Trade's low priced warrantry and the cost of the TV I opted to buy the warranty. In less than two years this TV failed to turn on and I contacted Square Trade. In less than 3 days local technicians had called me to set up an appointment for repair. A new power supply, costing approximately $400, was identified as the problem and placed on order from Panasonic. Three days later the repairmen were back and within an hour my TV was back in working condition. As the technicians were leaving I asked if there was any charge and they said, "No, leave the billing up to us." I can't believe how fortunate I am to have had a Square Trade warranty. I will be keeping a Square Trade warranties on all my electronic equipment from now on.

I put in a warranty request for my 55" Samsung LCD, and was handed off by SquareTrade to another company- ITI, which apparently is a service provider for SquareTrade. After "diagnosing" the problem based on the 1 line problem description in my warranty claim submittal, ITI informs me that my parts are on order. Over a week later, and still nothing! I was however able to deduce that their parts on order are to be shipped to ITI, who will then ship the parts out (probably another week) to a local technician, who will then contact me to schedule an appointment (another week or two on top of that). SERIOUSLY?!? The lag time for this response is just unacceptable! Its everything you fear for when you are dealing with an internet company- absolutely no recourse when they screw you.
