I didn't believe in add on warranties like sold at Walmart or Best Buy. But with the lower quality electronics sold nowadays, I changed my mind starting last year and am glad I did. I purchased a Westinghouse LCD tv without reading reviews here (big mistake) but DID purchase a SquareTrade Warranty. Good thing I did.

the language on the coverage on their summary is subject to change without advance notice so the purchase of a contract to provide in home service for large items can be changed at their discretion to exclude purchase made.
their summary clearly stated in-home service for a 37" or greater tv, but when contacted the size threshold had moved to 42" or greater. ok so...

I didn't believe in add on warranties like sold at Walmart or Best Buy. But with the lower quality electronics sold nowadays, I changed my mind starting last year and am glad I did. I purchased a Westinghouse LCD tv without reading reviews here (big mistake) but DID purchase a SquareTrade Warranty. Good thing I did.

The POS tv crapped out 7 months after I bought it and since it was a refurb TV, Westinghouse told me I was S&^% out of luck. I then contacted SquareTrade and within a day, they emailed me a prepaid shipping label to send the TV to them. After they got it and determined that I didn't break it, they returned my purchase price (less shipping cost) and I was able to go out and buy another better TV.

They did as advertised. I have since purchased two more warrantees on bigger ticket items that are more prone to failure. It's a terrible statement to the state of today's electronic manufacturers, but a reality.

I usually don't buy an extended warranty, however I did on this purchase as it was a refurbished lcd tv. I had the tv for 7 months the limited warranty had expired and the tv went black on half the screen. I called and filed a claim and they reimbursed me within in a week for the purchase of the TV minus the shipping. I would do it again on a purchase I was skeptical of lasting a long time. When I bought a refurbished LCD TV I received an e-mail solicitation for a extended warranty. I read all of the companies conditions and found it to be a sound decision to take thier offer. It was the first time I have ever gotten a extended warranty on anything. Well, after six months the TV screen went black. I tried everything and all I had was sound. So I searcjed my saved e-mails and found the receipt for the warranty and contacted them. Received a response in a very short time wanting a little more information on the problem. The next morning I was advised to ship the unit back and I would get my purchase price refunded. Within less than two weeks I got notice of the refund to my PayPal account. WOW!! I will use SquareTrade extended warranty on all of my purchases and I recommend them to all of the other online shoppers.

This is really the first time I've actually needed to place a claim with SquareTrade, so I was a bit worried about what I was in store for. My worries were really unfounded. The claim representative did some quick diagnosis and determined that my TV's repair would rate a full refund, because it would cost more than the cost to send a repair technician to my home.

After I faxed my warranty claim, I received my check in the mail in less than 10 days. I could have gotten my check quicker if I would have asked for a different payment method (paypal, amazon gift card, etc).

Thanks SquareTrade for the painless warranty claim.

2 and a half years into our 3 year warranty, our HDTV set refused to turn on. We called Square trade and they asked if we wanted to have them contact a service facility or would we choose to call a local repair facility that we had confidence in. We chose to call a local dealer that we knew and had experience with. The dealer came, repaired our set on-site (52 inch HDTV) the same day. We emailed the invoice into Square trade and had full reinbursement within a week. Quick, professional, and courteous service. They made it effortless to deal with the situation. Our future warranties will all be with Square trade.

I needed warranty service on my TV and they offered to refund the price paid. I told them I preferred to have it repaired and they agreed to pay up to the amount of the purchase price towards the repair. I submitted the (repair) receipt and was paid via paypal within a couple of days !!! Good communication throughout. I have other warranties with them too - hopefully won't need them.

Bought a TV online and got a warranty from them for 3 years. 2 years into it, the TV goes off. Opened a case and they got someone to come get it for repairs. They couldn't repair it so I got a check for purchase price. Well worth the money!
