4.0 out of 5 stars Goblin Haunted My Childhood, April 6, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Squeaking Goblin / The Evil Gnome (Doc Savage, Vol. 12) (Paperback)
When I was growing up, The Squeaking Goblin was one of my favorite Doc Savage stories because of the eerie image of the skull-faced "goblin" on the cover of the Bantam version. Creeped me out! It is wonderful to be reading these tales once again. I hope these reprints help a new generation discover the fun and fierce adventures of Doc Savage.

4.0 out of 5 stars Double Doc Action, July 5, 2009
This review is from: The Squeaking Goblin / The Evil Gnome (Doc Savage, Vol. 12) (Paperback)
I've always had a soft spot for The Squeaking Goblin, despite a plot point that irks the devil out of me. This point, however, would have ended the adventure before it began, so I let it pass and enjoy the ride. The concept of a coon-skin capped apparition firing vanishing bullets is great fun for any Doc fan. The Evil Gnome has always been one of my favorites and the restored version just makes it all the better. It starts out with a great little mystery and character and just keeps going to the slam-bang ending. As always, an excellent volume and well worth the price.
