Product Description

Safely make fresh juice, sauces, purees, applesauce, jelly, soups, baby food and more! No peeling or coring necessary! Place tomatoes, steamed apples or vegetables in 2-1/2 quart hopper, push the fruit or vegetables into the strainer with wooden plunger and turn the handle. The sauce and juice comes down the drain tray free of seeds and skins, which are discharged into a separate bowl. The Squeezo(R) strainer has been around for almost 90 years. Now components are made of stainless steel! There is no motor to break down and all parts are replaceable. Comes with stainless steel standard screen perfect for tomatoes and coarse applesauce, wooden plunger, cleaning brush and recipe book. Purchase berry and pumpkin screens separately. Made in USA.

2.0 out of 5 stars not worth the money August 9, 2011
At the recommendation of a friend and fellow Squeezo user, I purchased this product as well as the 3 screens and am sad to say I feel it was a waste of nearly $200. My family cans a significant amount of veggies and makes quite a lot of jelly each season. Before making it through a single harvest season the medium screen began acting up. Every crank of the handle would pop the plastic ring out. After contacting the company via several methods, a few of which led to nonexistant e-mail addresses, I finally reached them over the phone. Upon explaination of my dilemma I was told the Squeezo was meant for "hobby" use, not mass production. Honestly, who goes through all the trouble of apple, pear, grape, and various berry harvest in addition the art of making jelly, to can a couple quarts? I was further advised to purchase a new screen. So in essence to use the Squeezo each season, in addition to the original purchase price, I must expect to shell out another $30 or so for a screen or two a year. The Squeezo has been replaced by a doubled up pair of kneehigh pantyhose and for about 70 cents a pair they give this $200 machine a run for its money. Plus I just turn them inside out, shake the leftovers in the trash, and toss them in the wash to clean and never have to worry about unclogging them when I use a ton of fruit, granted my hands get dirtier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best invention for applesauce! October 3, 2008
I purchased my squeezo 3 on a garage sale and used it for the first time this year. What a easy piece to work with. All metal you know it will last. All I had to do was quarter the apples and cook till soft and run them through. This worked so well, the kids even joined in. It at times would start pushing the sauce out of the scrap end, but I removed the screen and cleaned it and we started again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Built for a lifetime? August 9, 2009
My Squeezo is over 30 years old. It would still be working perfectly as advertised, for my lifetime--and probably several more lifetimes--if the rubber gasket had not disintegrated. The replacement part kits currently available do not fit the old screen bases. Parts are no longer available for the older Squeezos. I think Squeezo is now made by its third manufacturer. So. . .is something only as durable as its most erodable part AND only as reliable as its manufacturer's commitment to support? It's as if you had a car that still runs perfectly but for which you can't get spark plugs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great strainer August 19, 2010
I bought mine in the mid 70's and it still works great today. I bought the replacement kit for the rubber gasket when mine hardened a few years ago and it fits fine. My husband and I just completed saucing a 5 gallon bucket of tomatoes in about 15 minutes and they are simmering into sauce as I type this. Don't hesitate to buy this. It is well worth the money if you make a lot of tomato sauce or juice. When my daughter was younger, we made a lot of apple sauce with it too. Friends and family used to borrow ours, but after a few times they went out and bought their own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Squeezo strainer January 7, 2010
I love this machine!! I first got one over 30 years ago and have loved it ever since. I lost my first one in a fire a few years back and found a used one on Amazon to replace it. I would not be without this machine at canning time. I have made tons of tomato juice, applesauce, pumpkin pie filling, jams and much much more. I love the fact that it is ALL metal, not plastic and that it is made in America not China!!! If you do lots of this type of canning or freezing this is the machine for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Single best kitchen investment I've ever made November 16, 2011
I put up 500-600 quarts of canned goods a year, and can say that my Squeezo is the single best investment I've ever made (well, it and a second pressure cooker). This year I did 100 quarts of applesauce in a couple of afternoons. Just cut the apples in half and drop in a big stock pot, steam for a little while until slightly soft, the run them through the squeezo. Seeds, skins and stems come out the end, perfect applesauce comes out the side. Same story for tomatos.

I did see one negative review talking about them jamming when making "jelly". I suspect that they were trying to use it for grapes, it DOES NOT work for grapes, I've tried that myself and the auger jams up. Other than that it's taken everything I've thrown at it and by now has processed many 1000's of quarts of tomatoes and apples over the years. It's more expensive than the cheap versions but I'm sure my grandkids will be using it someday, just like I'm using my grandparents' 70 year old All American pressure cooker. Invest in quality tools, you'll be glad you did in the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars been used over 35 years! August 31, 2011
My parents bought this shortly after they were married, and that was 42 years ago. It has been used every summer to make tomato juice. Still does a wonderful job, very dependable, keeps juice and seeds separate and it still shines! This is the best juicer ever made. (they even have the orginal box)

5.0 out of 5 stars Squeezo strainer is simply the best. September 27, 2012
This tool should be in the home of every home owner who cans (preserves) food for their family. I bought my wife this item in 1974 and she is still using it today. It is extremely well built, one that has served our family's needs for nearly 40 years. By purchasing the various screens, one can make almost any variety of sauces, jelly's and juices. When you go to the pantry and retrieve a quart of tomato sauce that was made in your kitchen, you positively know what it is your eating. Given what we find in our grocery stores these days, that is a very good feeling. When all five of our children were still home and growing, my wife would can well over 800 quarts of various veggies, sauces, and fruits, each season. The squeezo was (still is) an integral part of that work. Without it, her work would have been much more tedious, and we would have spent more moneys at the grocery store than we could afford. The squeezo strainer is simple to use, easy to clean, and will not rust. I believe it will more than pay for itself after just one season of gardening. I would buy a new one, but the one we purchased in 1974 is still going strong, nothing has ever wore out on it. Wish I could buy car like that.
