The description is wrong. And this is a VERY GOOD thing. The description is for the regular 21 fret Affinity (from China), but this one is different. And better. It is made Indonesia. It is a 22 fret neck on a STRING THROUGH body (not the "top loader" that is the normal Affinity). The neck is a little fatter, too. The gold & black logo is the most obvious way to distinguish the two types from online images. (The Standard line also uses gold & black, so don't get confused.)

I was very pleasantly surprised by the ceramic pickups. I already knew about the specification differences that I noted in the previous paragraph, and bought this guitar with the idea that it would be an excellent platform to make extensive modifications on. I had planned to start those mods by changing the pickups, but I'm not going to touch them. This is classic Telecaster tone, nice and fat with lots of Tele twang. If anything, there is ALMOST a little too much output for the supplied amp. (More about the amp later.)

Although there are minor cosmetic flaws in the paint/finish, the overall quality of this "beginner's" guitar is amazing. The neck is perfect, with smoother fret ends than the more expensive Tele Custom II that I first tried. The electronics are a candidate for upgrade, and I plan to eventually replace the dime sized potentiometers with full sized Fender pots, and re-solder everything. I also recommend upgrading the string trees. ("Roller" trees are a good option, especially if you like to bend strings.)

The amp is amazingly loud for 15 watts, with decent Fender tone. The description says "punchy", and they definitely got that right. But I didn't play with mine very much before selling it, so I don't know the extent of its capabilities.

As a seasoned guitar player in need of a decent yet cheaper guitar, this fit my needs. I've been playing 20 years and have owned the Les Pauls,Strats and even the more expensive Fender Tele.I recommend it for beginners but also vets. It's just fun to play.Make a few adjustments and put new strings on it and you're set.

I probably should have the guitar for a while longer before I rate it, but so far so good. Looks good, plays well. Set up was perfect. No problems I'm aware of yet.
