5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't start with a better instrument
We bought this for our 8 year old daughter over a year ago. It is well made, with a rosewood fretboard, and a hardtail bridge. The instrument was the perfect size for her. It has a good strong tone and consistent notes from low to high strings. The saddle is solid and the strings stay in tune well. I did a lot of research into this and after a year of playing it, am...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good guitar, great value, but needed a lot of adjustment to tune
Fun mini guitar! But it came way out of tune, and the strings hit the frets when initially played. After adjusting the strings to the highest level it was still contacting the frets, so had to adjust the neck to pull the strings higher. Once that was done the sound improved dramatically. Great starter electric guitar at a great value, my 9 year old loves it!

It has a good strong tone and consistent notes from low to high strings. The saddle is solid and the strings stay in tune well. 5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievably great., February 22, 2011
This review is from: Squier by Fender Mini Guitar, Torino Red
I have had my red Mini for about 6 years now. And I still am in awe over how fantastic it is for a small-scale Fender. In fact, I get a richer tone out of it than I do with my standard size Ibanez, which is just collecting dust. I don't think the Squier Mini is just for kids or students at all. I am 38 and have been playing guitar for 22 years. It is ideal for anyone with small hands, or someone who just finds the neck and action of large guitars too hard or uncomfortable to manage. I would suggest you compare this to a standard guitar in person. But for the price, this guitar can't be beat.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent guitar--incredibly playable, July 3, 2011

Wonderful starter guitar. I recently sat down with one, played for most of twelve hours, and felt no pain at all. The action is extremely low, but there's no fret buzzing. If I ever want one to travel with, I'd buy this mini without hesitation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a kid, January 13, 2011

I bought this guitar for Christmas for my 8 year old son. He already had an acoustic and is in 3rd grade orchestra. Before getting this guitar he never practiced, and wasn't learning much. Now he feels cool showing it to his friends, and with the distortion cranked up on the amp he can sound good playing only one string at a time. It's a little small for me and difficult for an adult to play without bending the strings out of tune, but it's perfect for a kid who wants to pretend he's a rock star. I'm hoping the cooler image of the guitar will make him more anxious to practice and learn to play. It's only been a month, but so far my plan is working.

My 10 year old granddaughter wanted a guitar for her birthday. This was absolutely the best gift. It was the right size for her and she has started her many years of guitar practice on it.

I purchased this guitar for my 8 year old grandson for Christmas this year, it was his best gift this year. He loves this guitar and he is trying to learn how to REALLY play it. He really likes the color Torino Red. This item was packed very well and secure for shipment it arrived in a double boxed to protect it. If I could suggest one improvement it would be that a guitar strap and several guitar picks should have been included with it even it the price needed to be adjusted a little to cover the cost.

Really not sure why it is called a mini guitar because it is exactly the same size as the other 1 we have. It is fantastic and my son is learning like crazy on it. I love keeping him focused on music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Squire mini Strat, December 30, 2011

Great little guitar. I purchased it for my son to learn on. Just like my Fender strat just smaller. Really needs thicker strings to sound good, because of the short scale length. Mine came with 9's on it, they felt like rubber bands. I went up to 11's and it feels great now. It really makes a huge difference in the playability of it
