I am 19 years old, and decided after playing my cousins guitar for a little while that i would like to get one as well. I must have spent a couple hours looking and researching all the beginner guitars at Amazon, and reading alot of customer reviews. I was a little nervous about buying a 200 dollar guitar at first, due to the fact of knowing what it will turn out to be like. I picked out the guitar that i wanted to purchase for a couple of days, and just couldnt muster out the money to actually buy it. Well i finally bought it, and it was a great feeling. Amazon said that it would arive from July 25-28. So i had thought i had 7 long days to wait. They also sent me an email, saying when it was shipped, which was nice. I was watching that every day. To skip ahead a little, my big box came July 22. I was so happy and relieved that it actually got here. The box was quite heavy. I put it out on our deck and started to unpackage it. I read reveiws saying that their guitars werent shipped well, but mine was shipped to the highest degree. It took me like 25 minutes to get my guitar out of three boxes, and when i took it out it was just like the one on the internet picture. Then i started pulling out all the stuff, and there were three fender picks, a fantastic sounding amp along with cords, a guitar stand and even a guitar case. So after about a half and hour, i was playing Smoke on the Water haha. Everything turned out perfect!!!
The guitar is great, no dents, no bowing of the wood, very well made, and sounds great out of the box. This kit comes with everything!!!
If you are a beginner or intermediate, this whole package will not fail you!!!
It would make one hell of a present!!!

I was extremly surprised and relieved when everything came through my door perfectly. Ohh and one more thing, it comes with a little tuner, it works great, just put it on the neck of the guitar over strings, and start strumming, very easy to use.

ohh, and it stays in tune for a long time. It is pretuned out of the box.

I bought a setup just like this nearly twenty years ago. At the time, I didn't even realize the difference between a Squier Strat and a regular Strat. I just wanted to own a white Strat like Jimi Hendrix.

Since then, I've put thousands of hours on the guitar. I still use the amplifier for playing around the house with all of my guitars. I now have a collection of fairly high end guitars, but I have a relationship with my white Squier that still keeps me pulling it out of the closet once in a while. This is not a bad guitar for what it is. It isn't a professional guitar, but Squier doesn't profess to be professional. It's a starter rig.

Mine is white like the one pictured. After years of abuse, it holds up well. I have a few scratches, but no major chips or flaws in the finish. The pickups are not bad. They're regular, low end, single coil pickups. It is a comfortable guitar to play for long periods which makes it a great guitar to buy a kid to get them started in electric. Mine has a maple neck and fretboard which are beautiful. The only real complaint I have is that mine buzzes. It's done it nearly since I bought it. It has a short somewhere around the cable plug that I haven't been able to pinpoint. I'm sure I could get it fixed, but at this point...it's part of the character of the guitar.

I recommend this guitar to anybody who'd like to own a Strat but can't afford a grand. It's not a bad guitar. I highly recommend it above any of the cheap guitars you'd buy at a department store. It's much higher quality than them. The amp isn't bad for a practice amp, either. Don't be afraid to buy one as long as you don't expect to play stadiums with it.

I purchased this electric guitar as a Christmas gift for my 12 yr old son. He loves it and plays it every chance he gets. This is his first electric guitar so we are still learning about all the technical aspects of it and cannot comment on that at this time. We really liked the whole package deal and it arrived promptly and well packaged. The only problem we had was that the frets stuck out a little on the neck of the guitar and it was ripping up his hand pretty bad. I had to take it to a local music store and have a tech shave down the frets for $30.....they highly recommend that you dont try to do this yourself. Otherwise, excellent product thus far!

I bought this guitar for my wife and she loves it. I was scared that I would have to calibrate the neck after the trip, but it wasn't required. The guitar came in perfect setup out of the box.

The amp is kind of crappy and gives some feedback. It only has gain on and off, you can't regulate it. So you either have a clean guitar or a really crunchy one. Feedback gets worse when the gain is on.

Other than that it comes with everything to get started it. Picks, stand, sleeve, etc. All is in there.

Great for anybody between beginner and intermediate.

I love this guitar! it's my first guitar. I knew I wanted to play electric guitar since I was 15 years old and heard Metallica; I finally bought my first guitar this one at age 27, Why I waited so long you ask? Many reasons parenthood, college, wife, simply life wood not allow me the time to get my guitar and practice my guitar. Now lets move on to this amazing instrument. The guitar comes in a big box and inside you have your, guitar stand which is decent, your gig bag which is a nice one, your amp which I wish would have had gain and reverb on it, but does not still a good amp though since this is a starter kit this really is all the amp you need for now, a guitar strap, 3 picks, and a guitar cable for your guitar and amp. The guitar is a beauty, the only thing I have to complain about is that the neck is not polished, but its still a super sexy neck, the color on the guitar is beautiful, the guitar also comes with a instructional DVD which really is the cream of the crop. I have learned a ton from that DVD and didn't know jack thanks Keith Wyatt the instructor on thee DVD, he teaches you chords, major triads, minor chords, movable chords, its a must have DVD for this package, Fender really out did themselves by putting a Keith Wyatt in the package. It takes about 5 minutes to take everything out the box and set up and once you pop in the DVD your ready to go. The guitar also comes with a sweet little tuner which helps tune your guitar in a snap a huge plus. I love my Fender Strat Squier and made a great decision in buying her, she is my new babe. I practice every day new chords and old ones to get better and faster and on this guitar you learn fast because she it not to big the fit is just right and the strap can be adjusted to any size your body needs for your playing comfort. I would recommend this to anybody who wants to learn how to play guitar definitely a 5 out of 5 stars all the way.

Bought this for my granddaughter and she sounds great. She says the guitar sound great too. For the money, great.

This is such a sexy piece of work. Yes, I know Squier is not the same as Fender. Yes, it's a much lower-quality student edition stratocaster. The amp is great, the gain button is sick, the guitar is mighty and it sounds so awesome. If anyone's looking for a first guitar, this is where you start.

We had originally bought an Act II guitar kit for our son and found it to be clunky and difficult to use. This guitar looks good, the amplifier is much better than what the other guitar kit had. The tuner is great. Altogether, it was just what we needed for our son who is just learning, but even more than that, it is something that he'll have for a long time that grows with him. We won't have to reinvest in a guitar every year because this one is of great quality. Also, our local guitar store was selling it for $50 more so it was a great deal!
