I purchased the Squiggle Wiggle Writer for my five-year-old after she used one at Occupational Therapy. I was a bit hesitant, due to the problems other reviewers had with the product, but our pen is working great. All the ink cartridges work well, and we've had no issues with the pen itself. I can see where it might not be the most durable thing in the world, but so far it is holding up just fine. It's a good sensory toy, and my daughter loves having one of her own.

I had such fond memories of this product from when I was a kid, and I was so hoping it would stand the test of time. Unfortunately, though, it just doesn't. First off, what's up with all the pen tips? Why are they even there? Variety? Extra length? I mean, I think we can all agree that a little extra length is always appreciated, but certainly one color is as good as the next.

What REALLY matters is the wiggle in your squiggle. (Ermiriiiite?) So imagine my disappointment when I realized that this product has only ONE SETTING. Don't get me wrong, I can definitely achieve "complete drawing" with that setting, but why not give more options, you know? Sometimes I like to draw more slowly than at other times. Not every drawing is the same, Hart Enterprises. This is where I could have used more variety.

At any rate, this one just didn't do it for me--at least not to the level I was hoping for. In my opinion, you should probably just skip it and go straight for the Lelo. (Google it, friend.)

And now I have this useless product just sitting around. Sigh. I guess I'll have to give it to my kids or something. Maybe they can figure out a use for it.

I bought the pen for a 3 yr old. Three of the points delivered no ink at all. The remaning points worked for 2-3 minutes and went dry. The pen handle (minus the points) wiggled if you had the battery connection only in certain places; trial and error. Total waste of money and not worth returning. Wish I could find one with better craftsmanship and pen points that work.

I bought this for my son to help him strengthen his hand and improve his fine motor skills. This pen would be perfect for that purpose if the quality was not so poor. It works about half the time and that's only if you bang it to get the battery connection to move to the right place and turn the pen on. I would not recommend this cheap version of a very useful toy.

I purchase these at a major retailer many years ago when my kids were small and looked for a long time to replace them, so I was thrilled to find them on Amazon. My kids loved to use them when they were younger and now I can have them when my grandchildren come over. They provide hours of fun.

My son uses a vibrating pen in OT for fine motor coordination and hand strengthening. This pen definitely has a wiggle to it. In fact, my hand hurt after using it for just a couple of minutes. It was fun to write with, and my child certainly enjoys it. It's not made of very thick plastic, pretty flimsy. Not sure how long it is going to last with continual use. The description says it comes with 5 refills, but our packaging only had 3. One already in the pen and two on the side. There was no other area for 2 additional refills to be, the product with shrink wrapped in that hard plastic shell casing. The ink does not write very dark, so again, not sure how long one refill will last. This pen will be fun while it lasts.

I ordered this for my son to reinforce the directionality of letter, number, and shape formation. I have used it often in therapy in the past with many other children and will comment on the quality in comparison to those I've used in the past once I receive it. If you are looking for something to strengthen your child's hand, this is not what you are looking for, I've noticed that some reviewers have mentioned this was why they bought it. It provides feedback to your hand/fingers, increased awareness through vibrations, and helps to reinforce directionality of symbol formation. If you are looking for something to reinforce visual motor control, this is it.

I use this in my kindergarten class as a reward activity. The kids LOVE it but the pen does not last. I am on my third pen in two years. It gets used perhaps once every other week. The children are instructed to turn the pen off before putting it down and they have not dropped the pen yet, the gyro at the top gets stuck and will not spin even after a fresh battery. Years ago (maybe 20?) I had a squiggle writer that was opaque and made with heavier plastic. I used that pen with my special ed students and it lasted many years. My opinion is, the kids really love this toy but it is now cheaply made.
