I bought this for my son to help him strengthen his hand and improve his fine motor skills. This pen would be perfect for that purpose if the quality was not so poor. It works about half the time and that's only if you bang it to get the battery connection to move to the right place and turn the pen on. I would not recommend this cheap version of a very useful toy.

I bought the pen for a 3 yr old. Three of the points delivered no ink at all. The remaning points worked for 2-3 minutes and went dry. The pen handle (minus the points) wiggled if you had the battery connection only in certain places; trial and error. Total waste of money and not worth returning. Wish I could find one with better craftsmanship and pen points that work.

I love the pen. However, one of the ink cartridges did not work when I received it.

My 4yo has fun with this. It was a Christmas present for him. He loves that it vibrates. The ink cartridges don't stay very well in the pen body unless you have it on the paper. We have already broke on of the ink cartridges. My son is rough on toys. Great for a child who is a little older or more gentle!

I purchased the squiggle pen for my 7 year old son. He uses this tool at his therapy and he really loves working with it so I bought it for our home. He loves the pen and wants to 'work' on his writing with it so that has been very helpful as an incentive to get him to write. I am not happy with the durability of the pen since it doesn't wiggle anymore unless you hold it upside down. I keep trying to get it to continue to wiggle but I end up frustrated that it only works upside down and stops spinning once you try to write with it. My son did drop it on the floor so it must have knocked something loose. I was surprised that it broke so easily b/c the one he uses at therapy has been there for awhile and it still works and surely someone has had to have dropped it there at least one time in the years it has been there and the number of kids that us it. I don't want to purchase another one since it cost close to $10 and I am not sure the next one will work any better. It did come with different colored ink to insert in the bottom of the pen so I could use it just for the different colors. Not so happy since I really was excited to have the squiggle wiggle pen to use at home.

I purchased the Squiggle Wiggle Writer for my five-year-old after she used one at Occupational Therapy. I was a bit hesitant, due to the problems other reviewers had with the product, but our pen is working great. All the ink cartridges work well, and we've had no issues with the pen itself. I can see where it might not be the most durable thing in the world, but so far it is holding up just fine. It's a good sensory toy, and my daughter loves having one of her own.

I bought 7 of these pens for my grandson's kindergarten class. When the teacher put the batteries in them, one of the pens was defective. Since she didn't do this for a few weeks, and then school was closed for the holidays etc., the date for returns has passed. Many people complained about the poor quality, I hope the rest of the pens will last the school year, and that Amazon could donate the defective on to the classroom.
