Great product,
By A Customer
I was diagnosed with Perioral Dermatitis by my dermatologist in Nov '03. She indicated it is caused by toothpaste (I was using Colgate TOTAL for 3 or 4 years) and I needed to use plain old-fashion toothpaste with NO "bells & whistles" and I had to take antibiotics to cure it. Dermatologist also tells me their office is seeing more and more of this due to all the fancy new toothpastes coming out on the market.Internet research on the diagnosis led me to Squigle Enamel Saver toothpaste. It is truly mild. During the years I used Colgate TOTAL (which I loved because my teeth felt sooo clean), whenever I used plain old regular Colgate it would taste like bland cardboard to me and I'd go right back to the TOTAL. Now that I've been using Squigle for over 4 months, when I pick up my husband's regular Colgate, it burns my mouth. Remember, this is the regular colgate that tasted so bland when I was using ColgateTOTAL. Another thing I noticed after using the Squigle for a couple of months---I don't need the daily flouride treatment for my sensitive teeth anymore. Last week I used regular Colgate once a day in addition to Squigle the other times of the day, and my teeth are becoming sensitive again. Evidently there is *something* about Squigle that keeps my teeth from being sensitive. Not putting more flouride in my body is fine with me. Interesting note --- the only other 'active ingredient' in Colgate's TOTAL is "triclosan." Before I was diagnosed I had switched face moisturizers and the newer one really irritated that rash on my face. Triclosan is listed as one of the ingredients of the newer moisturizer. I hate to toss a $30 bottle of Clarins moisturizer, but I do NOT want Perioral Dermatitis again. Triclosan is an anti-bacterial agent used in soaps and many other products, to prevent bacteria growth in the product itself. I my case, this is probably what caused my particular case of Perioral Dermatitis and I'll have to read ingredients labels for the rest of my life. This toothpaste is pricey but worth it to me.

This is one AMAZING toothpaste!!!!,
never thought i could get so excited about something like toothpaste, but wowee is this stuff great. i had developed a sensitivity to toothpaste containing sodium lauryl sulfate, which would induce outbreaks of very painful sores on my tongue. after doing some online research, i found squigle.
it tastes great, leaves my mouth feeling very clean, is very mild and just perfect. the only negative i can think of is the price--but it's worth not having a painful mouth all the time.

Great Product,
I used to get frequent canker sores. I tried pretty much everything and eventually stumbled upon this toothpaste online. It is really excellent and has dramatically reduced the incidence of canker sores. Additionally, my mouth feels cleaner and my breath has been better. Good stuff.

I am HIGHLY prone to getting canker sores. They started popping up around age 13; about 1 every few weeks. They were never very large, but they continued at this rate until I entered high school. For some reason, I began getting them constantly in 10th grade. And I truly mean constantly. Once one would heal another would show up. Not only were they more frequent, they began getting larger as well. They were always in different parts of my mouth (lower gum, upper gum, back of the mouth, everywhere). The pain was AWFUL! I remember one time, I had pain in the back of my jaw that was so horrible I thought a wisdom tooth was coming in. I went to the Dentist and he told me, no, it's not a wisdom tooth, but a canker sore that was slightly larger than a pinkie nail sitting right on top of my gum where wisdom teeth are supposed to come in. I know that doesn't sound like a huge sore, but I know for any of you that have dealt with canker sores for some time, a "pinkie nail" sized one can make your days miserable. I also know exactly how it feels to be in high school, and having to deal with the stigma of canker sores. They can make you feel unattractive, they can be the reason for reschedules dates, and depending on where one decides to show up try having the "it has nothing to do with herpes!" conversation more than once.
I'm now a Senior in college and Squigle enamel saver toothpaste has literally changed my mouth. I can't stress this enough. I know that any review will be met with criticism, but I hope any of you reading this will look at all of the other positive reviews and at least try it! I have had one, I repeat, ONE canker sore since I started using this toothpaste 8 months ago. ONE CANKER SORE! After having one after the other for years this has been a miracle. I smile about twice as much, I never have to tell my boyfriend he can't kiss me because it hurts, the list goes on. Now as for the product itself, the flavor is what I would equate to a mild Andes mint chocolate. I like it a lot, but it is far from the flavor of any commercial toothpaste. There is also a slight cooling effect because of the Xylitol. Also, you may feel like it's not cleaning your teeth as well as a commercial toothpaste, but I realized a little into using it that I just have to brush my teeth about a minute longer to achieve the same "slick" clean feeling that I used to get with my old toothpaste (I used to use Aquafresh if anyone is interested!). The tube is pretty small, and is a little pricey, but this is the only product that has worked for me and I REFUSE!!! to go back to how things used to be. I hope this review helps!

Got cankers?,

For over 5 years I've had trouble with soreness in my mouth. Most often it was having the inside of my upper lip being raw and feeling like hamburger. My dentist did the usual "Oh?", looked at it and sent me on my way. I luckily found a website based in England that described my problem and told of the wonders of Squigle Toothpaste. I tried it and it works. The problem has gone away and I've had no problems whatever in the six months since starting the use of Squigle.
As another reviewer has stated, SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate) is the culprit. It's used in 'most all available toothpastes in the US. So common, in fact, that it's hard to find one without. Squigle is your answer.Squigle Enamel Saver Toothpaste - 1 tube

I always had problems with annoying canker sores. I searched the web and randomly found squigle about 3 years ago. I have been using the product ever since and don't get canker sores any more unless I bite my mouth or something like that. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with similar problems. It also whitens teeth naturally which is a bonus too.

This is a nice non-SLS, low abrasive, high Xylitol toothpaste, with a moderate peppermint flavor. I'd rather have no flavor.

The best toothpaste ever!,

I thought of myself of the type of person to buy and "alternative" toothpaste, but am I glad I did. This stuff is truly wonderful!
I first decided to buy it because my toddler son developed (gasp!) cavities. In addition to brushing more often I really liked the idea of a a toothpaste that could help prevent cavities by inhibiting the growth of bacteria in a natural way. My daughter who is older loves the taste. She describes it as "chocolate mint"! Both the kids love the flavor, in fact. I didn't plan to use this toothpaste myself, seeing as it's relatively pricey - I was planning to just buy it for the kids. However, after using it a few times and then going back to my usual Tom's of Maine, I found that I couldn't stand the Tom's anymore. It left my mouth with that puckered feeling, like I just sucked on a lemon. And to think that in the past I used to associate that feeling with "clean." So now I'm a convert to Squigle too! My husband doesn't use it, because of course, real men only use Crest. I am really pleased with the xylitol in this toothpaste. I never have a sour taste in my mouth in the morning anymore. To increase this effect I do not rinse with as much water after brushing as I used to, to keep my xylitol in my mouth. For those concerned about flouride, please be aware the Squigle also makes a flouride-free toothpaste called Squigle Toothbuilder. I also use this on my toddler because he is not great at spitting. The Toothbuilder toothpaste does not have added flavor but is very pleasant tasting nontheless. My toddler loves it.

I bought this toothpaste in hopes of alleviating my frequent canker sore problems. I always dread brushing my teeth when I have a canker sore because it hurts so much. But I decided to try Squigle because it's highly recommended to uses SLS-free toothpaste if you struggle with the nasty mouth sores. While Squigle alone didn't really stop the outbreaks, it IS a very gentle and comfortable toothpaste to use. It does not burn if some gets into the sore. However, I am not sure I will buy it again though because it is a little expensive, and I can buy SLS-free toothpaste at several local health shops for a lot less money. Also, it just does not do the same cleaning job as regular toothpaste with tartar control or whitening agents. I like my teeth to feel SMOOTH, and after a week or so of Squigle my teeth feel like they need some regular toothpaste.
