Squinkies are fantastic for travel!! They're small so you can pack up a bunch and provide unending opportunities for imaginative play... They aren't slippery, so they stay put on airplane tray tables. They're cute and fun and my daughter adores them. No doubt, they are expensive, but the play value in our house makes them completely worth the cost... My only complaint is that I think the company ought to rethink the color tint of the "brown people". I've made a point of purchasing sets that included "ethnic" characters, but have been disappointed in the skin tone of these. My daughter doesn't care a bit, but this Mama would feel more respected if the shade was a more beautiful brown and less "greenish". This particular set receives kudos from me for including "brown people" at all, but loses some points simply because the color is a bit yucky... I hope the manufacturers make an effort to make an improvement there...

I hate these things at home. I love them everywhere else. I only buy them to stuff in my purse because when a trip to a restaurant is taking too long or we're anywhere that is just too boring for my kids, I whip one out and they're happy as a clam. At home? These things are essentially no more than vaccuum fodder. I've seen more in the tank of my Dyson than anywhere else.

I don't really see the point of these. They are easy to lose, overpriced, and kind of ugly. That being said, my daughter (age 10) LOVES them. She trades them, carries them around, etc. I really have no idea why. I would give them 1 star- she would give them 5. I compromised on 3.
