Same ball you can buy in the Pro shop or at any golf store, but 25% LESS. On top of the price, these are a great ball for distance and true accuracy, I hit them further and straighter than alot of other golf balls I have used over the years, I will be purchasing these again.

Tried the Srixon Z STAR SL when my son-in-law bought some a couple weeks ago. This is the only ball I have tried in 32 years that has made an actual noticable difference. I am older and my swing speed is probably well under 100 MPH, which is what the SL is made for. The last three rounds, all that I played since finding these, I have averaged 6 pars per round. Only averaged 2 balance of the year, actually the balance of my golfing career! Srixon Z STAR hits so straight and long I played two rounds before I lost one ball,(wrong club over the water). These balls like it in the fairway and on the green; they don't seem to want to go anywhere else.

About 5 years ago I spent a summer trying out as many different balls as I could find playing a full round with each so that I could compare and analyze each over the course of a round. That summer I tested about 30 balls from every different price range in my effort to find the right ball for me, Srixon's Z-Star didn't just win the testing but obliterated the competition! I found that the Pro-V1 (which seems to be the gold standard of golf balls) was very nice off the tee but garbage on all other shots! No control! I found some other balls that I liked a lot and surprisingly many of them were some of the cheaper balls on the market! But then I tee'd up my first Z-Star and from the very first swing I was in love! Never before had I felt so in control of my ball flight, and the distance was awesome! I started that summer as a 22 handicapper and after a couple months of getting my equipment right I had dropped that down to a 16. With the other balls I tested my scores seemed to always range between 88-95, then I started playing Z-Star and miraculously I started hitting in the low 80's to high 70's!!! I was hooked, I used nothing but Z-Stars for the next couple years and felt great about mt game.

Then life got in the way and I wasn't able to play as much, I went from playing 2-3 times a week, to being lucky if I could make it out to the course once every other month. My game started deteriorating because of this and my scores started moving up into the 90's which I was not happy about at all! I got to the point where I just didn't see the point in playing with expensive balls if I wasn't gonna put in the time and work on the course to justify them. So, I spent a couple years just playing whatever ball I could find and things got even worse...

Very soft compression. Long balls. Play well. I have begun to play yellow balls just because I can see them better particularly in the fall and winter. When Titleist makes the ProV1 in yellow I will switch back but until then, the Srixon are the best I have found and a great price too. I also like the Q Star. I am not sure I can tell any difference between the QStar and the ZStar and I am a 9 handicap.

OK, these balls are fantastic and for me, every bit as good as the Titleist ProV1s. However, I get these balls at Golf Galaxy for $29.99 and sometimes cheaper when they run a sale and/or send me coupons...just sayin...

Perhaps like many of you, I once thought that a costly, rock-hard "tour" ball was the best choice. A lot of buddies played with Pro-V's and the like and went for distance off the tee. But the short game is where you save strokes; older and wiser.

I was offered a "ball fitting" when I changed wedges recently...I moved up to Black Pearl wedges. A softer ball like the Z-Star may cost me a few yards on the fairway, but who cares? I am more confident on approach shots, since slightly softer balls can be "shaped" easier. The ball flight is a better match for my swing speed (110 mph, amateur). I really like the Tour Yellow, which makes these bad boys easier to track and find.

This is my ball of choice. I like playing yellow and not all of the manufacturers make their top tier ball in yellow. The yellow cover is easier to see in lower light and makes it easier to keep track of my ball front the rest of the group. The SL also offers the best combination I have found of green feel and distance for my upper 90mph swing speed. I'll have to find another go-to ball when these run out as they are becoming tough to find.
