Kelly Hicks has collected German Helmets since 1964 and this book is the culmination of over 36 years experience in this field.After a brief introduction about the SS he goes on to describe the differing types and style of helmets they used and how to spot the genuine surviving examples. He concentrates mainly on the "real McCoys" and in doing so the reader, after only a short read can become suprisingly adept at spotting a fake or "enhanced" helmet! If I have any criticisms, they would be that the book is a little short, and that too few of the photos of helmets from collections are in colour. That aside, this book will be a very informative addition to the library of anyone interested in the subject of German Military equipment from the last war. This book is a "MUST HAVE" item for the collector of the German "Stahlhelm" or tin pot!
