We love this product. I saw a recipe for it recently, but decided St. Dalfour's version was much easier and probably nearly as good as fresh-made. My husband called from Lee's Ferry in Arizona just before he launched a three-week trip down the Colorado River through Grand Canyon, and he took time to mention how good the Gourmet on the Go Wild Salmon had been for supper. This was a very expensive phone call with only one other possibility to talk in the coming three weeks, so his choice of topics tells you how good it really was!

This offers what i thought was impossible: a combination of 1.ready to eat 2. delicious 3. healthy/no preservatives/no weird non-food ingredients 4. low calorie/fat/sodium and 5. filling/satisfying. A great way to incoporate more fish and legumes into my diet. Great with some tomato wedges. I eat these at my desk, but also when out in the field miles from any restaurant. Also excellent for camping/hiking or on car trips (to avoid fast food joints). Much lower salt than most ready-to-eat preparations. Mine even came with some delicious honey which was suprsingly good in the salmon meal. Gotta love sporks. The amazon price per can is excellent.

Very tasty,

I was at first kind of sceptical about a meal in a can, but after tasting the Wild Salmon and vegetables, I was sold. Such good flavor and the vegs. didn't taste like canned vegs, they could almost be fresh. The portion size was good too, got full eating it for lunch. I would recommend this food to all.

St. Dalfour's Wild Alaska Salmon might work on a camping trip for someone who hates to cook, but I can't imagine voluntarily eating this again. It's well packaged, with healthy ingredients, but the small amount of salmon was tastless and dry. At around $3.00 a can, I'm not surprised that St. Dalfour skimped on the wild salmon, but I'm surprised that a label listing salmon as the first ingredient complies with the law. The mix of potatoes, carrots, and beans far outweighs the paltry amount of salmon. But come to think of it, the samlmon was pretty unappetizing anyway. So if you typically like Dinty Moore stew, this might be a healthy and convenient alternative for you.

More potatos than salmon,

The Alaskan salmon might be wild, but don't get wild yet since you will find it full of potatos and other veggies. The small salmon cubes are at the bottom of the can and makes up about 20% of the contents.
Okay, once you set your expectations properly, you will enjoy the flavor of this potato salad. It is convenient for you to bring on any trip outside home. To maintain low sodium claim, please do not put in the included salt & pepper packets. Bon Appetit!

Bought this for a family member who eats very healthy (teenager). She loved it. I grabbed a can one day when I needed something to eat on the go.
Absolutely incredible all the way around...texture and taste - fabulous.

Its 210 calories per can and 14 gms of protein and 8 grams of fiber. Then it includes a little package of orange blossom honey to add which is 20 calories. I really like it and it has a couple big pieces of salmon in it. Kind of filling...I like it for work so I can't snack. It contains no perseratives and overall, a good buy.

Anybody who complains about this is just complaining about the nature of canned food. As far as anything that can be produced and packaged as a meal this is very healthy and has a good value. France, Italy, and Spain have the best pre packaged meals.

I brought one of these for lunch today for the first time and I'm ordering more items from the St. Dalfour Gourmet on the Go line, NOW! These are perfect. I was ordering from NutriSystem; not so much for weight loss but I liked that I could get at least a baseline of nutrition each day without having to cook ahead of time or spend too much money eating out for every meal. Between these items, the soups from Nile Spice (I bought those from Amazon too and they're great!)and South Beach type bars, I think I can replace the overpriced and under flavored NS meals. It comes with little packets of salt & pepper, a tiny but usable fork and a package of Orange & Acacia honey. (ketchup pack size) I have no idea if it's supposed to go on the salmon or not, but it's tasty.
A serving size is half a can (yeah, right!) so in practical terms, the nutrition listing is: 210 calories 8 grams fat (1 gram is Sat.Fat) 20 grams carbs 8 grams fiber 0 grams sugar 14 grams protein

Oh, this is unbeLIEVably good! We ordered a case of 6 to take on a 4-day car trip, planning to avoid stopping for lunches along the way. Hoped, from previous reviews, that these'd be OK and decided to give them a try. Boy, are we glad we did! This is EXCELLENT food -- nutritious, surprisingly low calorie (105 calories per can?!), and absolutely delicious. Also very satisfying. This has become our no-refrigerate, no-cook staple from now on. Yes, just eat right out of the can -- AWESOME! Add a bit more in the way of veggies and/or fruit, plus a drink, and you've got a whole meal. Just sent 2 cases to my elderly parents who are having trouble cooking for themselves, in hopes they'll love it too and will find this helps them maintain their independence for a little while longer. And will order lots more for ourselves, too, as soon as we get home. A definite winner!
