There is a story from TVShowsonDVD.com that a 2009 release of a St. Elsewhere box set is 'being considered'. This news may also bode well for Hill Street Blues. Keep your fingers crossed!

According to Amazon.co.uk, Season two (region code 2) is available for pre-order. And that the release date is January 1, 2020! Is this a joke or a mistake?

St. Elsewhere SHOULD HAVE been licensed years ago. Fox only released Season One, and stopped production, FOR NO REASON! I think Shout! Factory WILL DO BETTER than Fox. Please Contact Shout! Factory, and KINDLY ASK them to purchase the rights to ALL 6 SEASONS!

Speaking for myself, I didn't buy Season 1 because it didn't have all of the original music; perhaps I'm not alone. If Season 1 didn't sell much, there'd be no reason for Fox to think that subsequent seasons would fare any better.
I don't think I've ever read a good review of Shout Factory releases, on top of which, Fox owns the right to the series. Why would they sign away the rights to Shout Factory?

Heldaig says:
Sometimes getting all the original music costs too much for the series to be released at all. I don't like having replacement music (it really impacts certain releases such as The State box set), but if dropping a couple of songs will allow them to release the other 99% of the show, I'm fine with it. If you insist on having 100% or nothing, that's your choice... too bad you're missing out on the rest of the show.

Not really. I caught the first season in its entirety on Hulu. But I appreciate your sympathy.
