I've been taking this Swanson's St. John's Wort supplement for a week now and am very pleased with the results. I am also taking the Gaba from same seller and Dual Ginseng Plus and Maca along with the Brewer's Yeast, Broken Cell Wall Chollera, spirulina, and iron complex(all from Swanson). I have tons more energy; feel much more alert and just feel a tremendous amount of difference in only one week. Normally I pay the higher prices for supplements and order them through Puritan's Pride. Now upon discovering Swanson, I will buy my supplements mainly through them because of the excellent quality supplements and lower prices. I never had such wonderful results with supplements before now. As long as Swansons continues to manufacture high-quality items, I will buy from them. The Now company offers the best quality in supplements, but they are not as economical to purchase or as easy to find (some health-food stores can order specific products from them at your request).

Hopefully, if you're looking into St. John's Wort, you have researched into what it is first. It is believed to have anti-depressant properties and is sometimes prescribed as an anti-depressant in other countries. That said, it is controversial due to the efficacy of the drug. The way it works is not known( but you'd be surprised at the amount of prescription drugs whose mechanisms are also not known) but several studies have shown it to be more effective then certain prescription drugs. This should be taken with a grain of salt however since there are many prescription anti-depression drugs that do worse then placebos(Fake pills).

This particular product is composed of 250 pills containing 375 mg of St. John's wort. Unfortunately, this dosage is not standardized but is actually 375 mg of shredded plant leaves. This means that the dosage(the actual antidepressant chemical) you receive daily may vary from day to day. However, for this particular drug, this may not be important. This generally takes 6 WEEKS or longer for the drug to take effect and slight fluctuations in drug intake on a particular day may not matter. That said, there are better St. John's extracts that standardize the amount of hypericum and other drugs in the St. John's wort that may be better for you.

I have NOT used this product for 6 weeks or longer so I am not qualified to speak on how it actually worked. Nevertheless, you are ingesting a pharmacological drug that may have certain side effects. For me, this resulted in some stomach pains from digestion. Since the way this drug works is not well known, I'd avoid cheese and alcohol while using this as it may be a MAO inhibitor(Probably not). Please talk to your doctor when you use this product and tell him about your usage if you're on other prescription drugs.

A great alternative to medical mood-altering drugs, this stuff is herbal and non-habit forming. I'm in Iraq currently and kind of irritable, as most people are when they're away from home, and this supplement takes the edge off.

I tried the herb for 1 month taking three a day all at once. I tend to be a stressful and anxious person and these herbal pills didn't really do anything. I did find that once I stopped taking it I did feel sliggtly more tensed but it may have been from the lack of sleep. I switched it up with HTP5 instead and noticed that it helped better instead. The brand of HTP5 I used is NOW. Perhaps a different brand would do better, maybe I took it at the wrong time of day, didn't take enough or did/did not take with food? I took it as recommended on the back. I ordered this last Friday and received it 2 days later on Monday!That really surprised me! I was expecting older orders but got this quicker than those ones.

Hmmm. Let me make my review brief: I would buy this product again from this seller. Voila! My highest vote of confidence.

The problem was that the St. John's Wort was delivered incredibly late. Had I known that Swanson would take that amount of time, I would have preferred to go to the health store and buy the product instead.
