It's simular to what Sad Louis would be with only one member and performed with electric bass instead of upright. Extended technique with no melodic overhead. I find the work of Darin Gray and his collegues a fitting companion to early Pendecki, and other "sound mass" composers. Having grown up in St. Louis, I love unexpectedly running into works Darin Gray has collaborated on. Much more so his own independent efforts. Attempted explanation of the content of this CD or musings on intent are above my ability and desire.
