Saw this little Pocket Level and thought it was like the other junkie little levels you sometimes see at the big box stores. But when I picked it up and felt the quality, I was impressed. I know Stabila as a top quality German level maker and have several already, so I thought I would give this a try. Didn't think I would use the belt clip, but I wear it all the time, it comes in really handy. It's sort of like having the small tape measure in your pocket, you doubt you will ever use it, but find you use it all the time. The thing I really like about this pocket level is that it is magnetic, both vertical and horizontal. It only has one vial in horizontal position, but since there is a magnet on side, besides bottom, you can Plumb and Level with this cool tool. I have gotten many comments by the guys I work with, at first they thought it was a joke, but now they are always asking me to toss them my pocket level for a quick check of level. This little level is used more than my longer levels. Don't get me wrong, you need the longer levels, but I am surprised how often I can make a quick check of a shelf, a stair riser, leveling my miter saw, all kinds of use. You need this level.

When a job starts up, I'm usually wearing my FBR (Full Battle Rig), walking around with 50lbs of tools strapped to my person. Once things settle down though, I'm more than ready to go light: a hammer & holder; a rear pocket pouch; a clip on nail pouch; a tape; and now the Stabila level with holster. I have tested it's accuracy aganst much more expensive electrians torpedos and top-of-the-line 24" boxes. The readings consistantly match up.
This is no replacment for full size levels; But when you are 'working lite', it can hardly be beat for twice the price.

I love stabila. I really like their larger levels. It's hard to beat a lifetime guarantee from a stellar German company, that pays its workers well, and in turn they do a good job and put out a good product. This thing is just too small though. If I want to get something level, I break out a real level, like a 36" minimum. You can attach this to a ridged straight edge, and it would probably be fine, but for $15.. just put that $ into a big level. I thought this would be handy, that I would carry it around with my on my belt when I did projects, but that proved to be too much of a hassle for me. If I need a level I can walk into the tool room and get this, or get a real level, that's what it boiled down to for me. But if you're one of those guys who carries a leatherman around with him wherever he goes, like my dad, you'd probably find a nice home for this in your glove box or something. It's the best product of it's kind, I just don't use it.

It's about time someone made a small magnetic level with the magnets on the grooved side. Perfect for commercial electricians.

A great pocketable level, convenient to use and easy to view. The magnet sticks well and the surfaces on bottom and side make it usable in all orientations. Build quality is decent, the plastic holster has already proven its worth when I knocked it to the floor by accident.

We build hydraulic power units in the shop and our guys love these things for leveling tubing and mounting fixtures. Handy, light weight and inexpensive. Great little tool!
