Both my daughters love Stablemates series. This is a really nice chapter book to help them start reading on their own. You can read it to younger kids too and they will enjoy it, but for me it was the draw that made my dauhter to actualy want to read on her own.

After being very disappointed with many early chapter books due to inappropriate content for kids, I am even more pleased with the entire Stablemates series. The stories are gentle, illustrations are beautiful, and kids can't wait to read them. They are great first chapter books, as there is not too many paragraphs, and a picture on every page. They are also very nice hardcover books for the price. Highly recommended!
