But the manufacturer (not Sportsman's Guide) packages it very poorly. it has no styrofoam to protect it, jsut a box is just fitted to the cabinet. I received the first, returned it, then the second, returned it for a refund. The first one was bent in the middle, the second had all four corners bent up. No protective packaging at all.

However, Sportsman's Guide is terrific to work with. Friendly, understanding, and no hassle. The turnaround time is great also. I'll purchase from them again with no hesitation. the Stack-on cabinet is a good product also. I ended up buying the same stack-on cabinet from a local retailer. Since it didn't have to be shipped, their edition was the same cabinet welded together and ready for use. The one from Sportsman requires assembly since it is shipped to the customer.

the cabinet is stable and strong. It isn't a high security cabinet, it's made of light-weight steel. But it is roomy, has a shelf, and it provides a safe place to lock up the firearms. I am very satisfied with Stack-On, and especially satisfied with Sportsman's Guide.

Just as advertised. This is a heavy duty steel cabinet that locks securely at 3 points and can be lag-screwed to the wall joist and floor with bolts provided. Came pretty well protected and I am very satisfied with it. Yes, someone could probably break it open with a crow bar, and yes they could also use the same to tear it from the wall and floor, but short of that kind of attack, it will hold your stuff securely.

everything about this cabinet is great, with one exception the lock... i have no safety worries, but the key takes a lil bit of effort. with that being said i have a homak pre assembled cabinet and the stack on is easily the same quality. one warning a smart teenager with a pribar could get thru this in under 30 min, it would make a lot of noise and take a fair amount of effort... but if someone really wants to, they could get in it

Item had been slightly damaged in shipping. Required bending some metal pieces back into correct shape for assembly. Relatively cheap construction, as expected, but assembled very easily and turns out to be a decent unit overall. Lock mechanism is low quality, and doesn't work very smoothly. Needed to lubricate lock cylinder, and key is sometimes still hard to remove after closing and locking door.

Immediately after buying on Amazon, started receiving junk mail directly attributable to this transaction.

I got mine it's got a nice pine green color looks like powder coating the metal is thin but I already knew it when I bought it.Unfortunately mine came a bit banged up it was not the company but the shipper"What can Brown destroy for you" The price is right but the packageing is not good enough to stop the shippers from beating it up so some blame is the companys but I feel the shipper caused the damage.If it comes undented it's not bad looking and looks easy to assemble.Although it's thin metal and a theif with a zip saw could cut through it..I doubt they usually have one handy when breaking in.I suggest using a piece of 2x4 to secure it to the wall due to the metal being thin 2 bolts even with washers could be pryed of the wall popping right off through the sheet metal.The 2x4 would spread it out along the back so that wouldn't happen or basically you'd have to destroy the cabnet to get off the wall.If you go with the 2 bolts add some cheap walmart steel weights to stuff in the bottom as an added precaution it's a secure cabnet! Not a thick steel safe... But it is a good buy for what it is and will provide some peace of mind knowing your firarms are locked away from kids and it's the law in some states.If mine had come undamaged I would give it 5 stars.I'll update my review when I find out if I'll get a partial credit and how the company performs with regards to the issue.If you order it and it comes undamaged I think you'll find it was a good buy for the money...I am a bit disappointed a few reviews stated that there's came damaged as well.I was hoping the issue would have been resolved prior to mine coming which it had not.So,I am out some lost time and so on.. Mine can be banged back into shape but it will not look as good and might not function as well and a customer shouldn't have too do this and that's the bottom line.

They gave me a 20.00 dollar credit and a 10.00 dollar coupon although I didn't get what I paid for the company cared enough to try to make amends for the damage.So if your patient there a decent company to work with I had to wait a little longer than I wanted but better late than never. I give them 4 stars but If you get it undamged its a 5 star deal for sure.Mine has dents and ripples not to bad some where hidden in the build some where not... when it's fully assembled it's quite (Stout and Tight) a decent gun cabnet and a decent company to work with. I will buy from them again cause I know if I have a problem they'll try to fix it.

I rarely write reviews, but I was so upset with how poorly my experience went with this I felt I had to warn others:
- Instructions are very poorly written and illustrated.
- The lock itself fell apart during assembly.
- I managed to piece together the lock, only to discover that the lock plate did not fully engage the inside lip of the door. Applying a little bit of pressure to the key resulted in the key breaking off in the lock!

Spend a few extra dollars and get a gun locker that actually, you know, locks.

i guess im one of the lucky ones, mine came today.. no dents, everything was there easy to put up , looks great and now rifles and shot guns safe from kids and intruders, well if some kids break in they will grab what they can and run , then i am good , but if the pro comes by im screwed lol enjoy !

Today 2-07-11 when i went to open the safe turning the key to unlock , the lock gave out or wore out and does not disengage the lock when key is turned... now i have to un screw the door safe and repair lock . SUCKS.. what if it was late night and it was the only place i had my firearm id be screwed, thank god i dont keep all my eggs in the same basket !

i picked mine up for a pretty good price. It has a nice finish, assembled easily as it is light enough to move around, and operates well. The foam gun rests are a joke, and (like all other similar units) you'd never get 8 guns in it, but the removable shelf is handy. It'll keep kids out, but don't expect that it'll keep out anyone who has access and is at all determined to breech it. I eventually sold mine (very quickly for most of what I paid for it) as I wanted a combination lock (no keys to hide) and needed a bigger, more secure safe for my growing collection.

Do not buy this product unless you carry it out of the store and have inspected it first. It will be banged up if it is shipped. Sportsman's Guide Customer Service is a bit abrasive and uncooperative about the situation aswell.

Great shipping, great product. exactly as advertised. Looks great and is very sturdy
