Stack-On GC-900-5 Steel Pistol/Ammo Cabinet, Green

I bought this handgun/ammo cabinet to store primers and powder for my handloading hobby at home. Obviously I don't need any curious types getting their little mitts on my stuff.
As far as security goes - this is a CABINET and not a safe. I know that has been stressed in other reviews, but some don't get it. No this won't keep a determined thief from stealing your items, but it does help to secure valuables from the 'opportunistic' type of theft.
The only reason I didn't give this a full 5 star rating is because it would seem that Stack-On has a problem with their forklift drivers, or someone on the night crew is swinging a crowbar around.
Having heard other buyers complain about damaged items they received from Stack-On, I made sure to carefully check out the package as it arrived through UPS. Not a wrinkle, scratch, dent or scuff in sight. Then I actually opened the box to remove the cabinet; another story entirely.
The cabinet has three distinct dents on it - all very sharpish. I even found what appeared to be a little rust on one top corner. Checking the package again, I noted that the styrofoam packing and clear plastic bag inside the box (used to cover the cabinet) were not damaged in any way - which leads me to think that the good folks at Stack-On actually packaged the cabinet like it was before sending out of the factory.
That is a sad state of affairs. Seeing as how I have also ordered a Stack-On 10 gun cabinet, to be delivered next week, I am beginning to wonder in what condition that arrive in.
A decent product, does what it says on the tin, just a little rough around the edges.

This cabinet has enough room for my 3 pistol in hard cases plus all of my pistol and rifle ammo. It isn't all that robbery proof I think a bar would get it open. It works for what I need it for storage and lockable to keep kids out.

I was worried about this item because i read alot of reviews saying it was beat up and missing things, so i was very happy when i opened it and it was in great shape and had everything with it. its much nicer then i expected, great item. i will be ordering the large gun cabinet to stack this one on also.

I ordered the Pistol/Ammo cabinet to compliment another Stack-On cabinet I had bought early in the year. After reading other reviews, I was worried about what the condition of the cabinet would be (dents/dings) when I received it. My worries proved unneeded about the exterior. The cabinet arrived looking great and will fit my needs well.

The problem occurred when I opened the cabinet. The cabinet only had one shelf (it is advertised to have two) and there were only two bolts to mount the shelf (the shelf has FOUR holes for mounting). I called Stack-On thinking this would be an easy fix (send me the missing shelf and hardware), but the representative was very defensive and even stated that I could pick up the missing bolts at my local hardware store when I asked that they send those missing parts as well. I don't think it is too much to expect the product bought to arrive as advertised and with all parts needed.

In the end, this product will be perfect for my needs, once the missing parts arrive. I just wish Stack-On took a little more care in packaging their items and in handling customer concerns.

Although the GC-900-5 is a simple steel cabinet, it can provide adequate safe storage of documents and jewlery. It is easily mounted on top of the Stack-On 5 ft cabinet, then bolted to wall studs. It is NOT a water proof nor fire proof cabinet, so other arrangements must be taken for those hazards. Use the cabinets for convenient temporary safe storage; remember thieves can and will tear away cabinets such as these with little care or thought.

This is a nice storage cabinet. It is as described. Wish the plastic shelves were a bit stronger/firmer. But the sadest part is that this fairly nice product was degraded by a large plastic label that the manufacture had placed on the door. The sticker lists the features of the unit, but it also appears to have been applied to the door before the glossy paint had dried/cured. After removing the sticker a mark was left behind on the door.

Excellent US made storage cabinet.
It will keep kids and amatuer thieves away from your valuables.
Bolts to the top of any Stack-on long gun cabinet.
Plastic shelves are kinda hookey, but that keeps them from scratching your guns.
Just do not overload them and you'll be fine.
I am very pleased with the quality and the usefullness of this cabinet.

This cabinet is exactly what I was looking for! All I could find for days was big tall cabinets for rifles and shotguns. I knew what I wanted and this is it!! Perfect for several handguns and ammo.I also keep a cleaning kit and other important items.J&M Hunting had the best price by far! Thanks Guys! Todd

This pistol and ammo cabinet are perfect for what I purchased it for, keeping small hands out of harms way. I mounted it on top of my rifle cabinet to extend the space for my weapons and for the price it was worth it. Some minor dents are visable but not enough to compromise the cabinet or give it the appearance of being "pre-owned". The price was differently worth it, looked online and visited some of the chain stores before settling with Amazon. A wise choice.

I have the Stack-On long gun cabinet that matches the Pistol/Ammo cabinet. Both are excellent values for the money. If you need just a security cabinet and don't need a fire proof safe, you'll be happy with this product.
