The seals leak and pop when tightening. Quality control was poor on my batch of 8. Out of 8... 7 leak. You would think the seal would be the number one function of quality control review. l. The threads are too small and when sealed if you give a gentle pull you can pop the lid open and water leaks everywhere. You are asking for water damage with that unreliability. Of course they work standing upright, but that is completely against the point.
I contacted the company immediately to report the problem and was met with voicemail and an email response. Now I have $150 in leaking water storage with an automated shrug and hand off to amazon to deal with.

It actually ships from their warehouse although we are the seller. For security purposes, we are unable to contact them on your behalf. Because of this, we have to forward you to Amazon customer service to take care of the issue. "

Buy these 1:1 in a prep store and inspect every seal. -- disappointed --

There is a big problem with these waterbricks. I purchased a set of 10 WaterBricks and 8 out of the 10 leak badly. By badly I mean that when laid on their side like they are designed, there is a 6 inch puddle underneath the brick within 10 minutes. I tried tightening the lid to different degrees (thinking maybe tightening too much would warp the rubber gasket and disrupt integrity of the seal) but that made no difference. The quality control must be bad because it appears that only a small proportion of people have had this problem.

Update: I contacted customer service and the owner of the company personally called me the next morning. He stated that there were some QC issues around the time of hurricane sandy when demand was sky high. By later that morning he had sent out a whole set of 10 new rubber gaskets free of charge and 2 days later I received them. However, I changed all the gaskets and the problem did not improve. I called the company again and the owner sent out 10 new WaterBricks free of charge. He allowed me to keep the 10 I had, recommending their use for dry storage, and simply requested a close up photographs of the leaky waterbricks so that they could troubleshoot the problem and give feedback to their manufacturer. Awaiting their arrival and will update when they arrive. At this time I would say that the initial disappointment of the product performance has been surpassed by the amazing customer service. The company was very honest about the problem which was refreshing and more importantly stand behind their product.

So far so good. Took this car camping and it fits neatly almost anywhere thanks to it's slim design and profile. Washed it out with some baking soda and non-chlorine peroxide based "bleach" and did not have any funky smells or tastes in the water (I had some issues with other plastic containers making the water taste like plastic). The lid seals great. A little tough when it comes time to wash it out, as the inner design makes nooks that make it hard to get all the water out. I had to keep shaking it out and leaving on a table outside on a warm day to get it all the way dried out. It took some time. I also purchased the spigot built into a separate lid. Not too happy with that, but that's a different review. All in all, I will be purchasing a second and maybe third. The seller ships USPS "Parcel Post" which can be hit and miss with shipping times (though they did send a tracking number with the shipping email).

After much research for water storage for emergencies I concluded this was the best option. You can stack them easily like legos so total number is up to you. They are durable and with their size and carry handle, you can easily tote them around as needed unlike some other larger containers.

Lids leak, gasket poor quality and not cut well. I would not recommend this item. I am unable to stack them as advertised due to the leakage.

A must for any prepper. They are modular and don't take up much room. You can use them for storing anything like water or any grain (rice, flour, wheat, cereal, etc). Perfect for bugging out or use for bugging in. I would recommend getting them in fours. That way you can stack them. These are awesome!!!

I finally got around to filling mine up, and I found out I can't get them to seal properly when they are horizontal. If laid on their side, they constantly drip. I dug out my Oil filter wrench and torqued them down, and they still drip. The lids won't go tighter and they do come with a rubber seal, but I suspect the manufacturer's tolerances are to blame. Not all is lost though, I still like them and use them for emergency water storage, I just have to stand them up so they don't leak.

I ordered an 8 pack of the WaterBricks before Christmas. A very large box arrived. It was sloppily put together. Several parts were lying on the bottom of the box. After taking apart the box and matching the loose items up with the bottles I noticed one lid missing. That was it. I contacted Amazon and Bigflysports and no one could send me a lid. No response besides wrapping up the crate of containers and struggling with the whole thing to U.P.S for a refund and resending the item. Why couldn't anyone simply send me the lid that they slopped together in a home made box? Ridiculous customer service. I happened to have ordered a spigot separately days before. I will use that. I will never order loose or bundled items again.
