This CD is so awsome!! Stacy's Mom is the greatest song ever. The theme is great, the lyrics are awsome and it has a humerous flare. If you want to test the water a little bit, then tune your radio into almost any pop rock/hip hop station to hear it. But for the suspicous ones still out there take this advise: Even if you don't get CD at least do yourself the favor of getting a slammin' party started by cranking up the radio and lettin' loose with Stacy's Mom!!

I just heard this cut on the radio fresh for the first time, and even though I got to my destination, I had to sit and listen to the rest. In fact, the reason I'm logged in right now is to find out who these people are and how I can find the cut. Now don't get me wrong. These guys aren't the next Beatles or even Feeder, but for an intentionally teeny-bopper sound, these guys NAIL it. The Buddy Holly vocals are a perfect fit. This is Feel Good music, plain and simple. The only down side to the song is it fails to return to the strength of the sudden change in vocals such as that found at the 1:22 mark, and finishes "soft" and too predictable. Still, I LOVE this track.

I recieved this single from my daughters for christmas, one of whom is named Stacy. She heard if for the first time while driving and almost drove off the road. They could hardly wait for me to open that present. We have all laughed so much listening to it. I had never heard it so it was a big surprise for me. This might sound crazy but i was flattered that my kids thought i still 'had it'. A very special present for me.

I think Fountains of Wayne is a good band and group. Stacy's Mom is really hot, and the song stacy's mom is really good! The last person who said that Fountains of Wayne sucks, sucks. Even though I'm only 10 he's a real idiot and I know what good music is.

First off, for those reviewers who were too ignorant to find out ANTYING about this song and this band....

This is NOT a "Novelty Song!" And Fountains of Wayne are far, far from a "corporate" one-hit-wonder band. This is a great, great single from one of the best albums of 2003 and one of the most criminally overlooked bands of the past 10 years or so.

There's a reason that the reviewers love this band - lame-brained customer reviewers like Rozz and Mistermaxxx just don't seem to get it - which says more about them than it does about the song.

However, my recommendation is DON'T BOTHER BUYING THE SINGLE. $12.99 for one song and a couple of B-Sides? C'mon. Spend the extra buck and get the whole album, and you'll see why it made a bunch of "Best Of" lists for this past year.

Stacy's mom is like the all time best song. This song has opened doors to new generations of music and also for the band FOuntains of Wayne. I think that some people need to grow up and just accept the fact that Stacy's mom is a mint song. I hope that more songs like this will be produced and more bands like Fountains of Wayne will appear in the near future. It's 2006 and this song is still really cool and relates to many things that people talk about or do everyday. My band plays lots of Fountains of Wayne songs and my school and crowds love it therefore i hope that FoW make some more killer videos and songs like this. Until then STACY'S MOM HAS REALLY GOT IT GOIN ON.

C'mon people, those of you doggin' on the song, have some humor! Don't you remember I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred?
What about Double Dutch Bus by Frankie Smith? (OK so my Mom hated this song) then there is Who Let The Dogs Out by Baha Men. Don't take it so seriously, it was not meant to be taken that way. It's not like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins or the Rolling Stones who would all sound just plain awful trying to pull something like this off. It's a joke, OK?

To me this song is ok for what it is, which is a goofy upbeat alternative-rock styled pop song. It is rather on the corny side a bit too much for my taste. It was a great fit for someone I know who performs comedy and did this song for Karaoke.

Now what galls me about this song is that some Christian band tried to Christian-ify this by redoing it as J.C.'s Mom has Got A Growing Son. Grrrrr! I never heard THAT version and I don't care to. Just reading that title makes me cringe and it get's -5 stars (minus 5 stars) just for SOUNDING stupid. Look, if you don't approve of it from a religious or morale point of view, don't redo it, don't review it, don't remix it, don't remaster it, don't remake it and just....don't!

I already HAVE the entire album (and I BOUGHT IT, NOT downloaded it off of a file sharing serrvice despite the fact that I DO use said services for OLDIES stuff!) WELCOME INTERSTATE MANAGERS that contains iut. This is the very first song (and I first heard it back in 2002 when it cmae out!) by FoW that most of us are familair with--since buying said album on CD, I've enjoyed the entire shebang,...and yes, Stifler's mom (to say NOTHING of Mrs.Robinson/Graduate!!) came DIRECTLY to mind (Jennifer Coolidge was Stifler's mom and Anne Bancroft Mrs.Robinson).Now if Fountians of Wayne could only do a song about Stifler's mom or change it a bit to avoid confusion between the two and cover Simon and Garfunkel's 1968 classic Mrs.Robinson, we'd have a trilogy by FoW in a formula..

Sounds like a Cars song and khas athematic kinship to the Cars's My Best Friends Girl AND Rick Springfield's Jesse's Girl--and there is even a RIC(sic-no final "K") in the Cars..how coincidental is alla THIS???

All I could think of the first time I heard this song was Fish and Stiffler's mom from American Pie! I couldn't believe my ears! Just the same, I got a good laugh and this tune is definitely catchy. It sure grabbed me!
