I bought this pencil sharpener for my dorm room because I'm old school and am one of about 5 people who still prefer "traditional" pencils over mechanical ones. Anyways, for a little over a buck this is the best purchase I've ever made! They sell worse quality pencil sharpeners in my college bookstore for over ten dollars!! This unit is high quality (it gets tossed around by heavy books in my backpack all day and still holds up like new), and sharpens pencils better than some electric pencil sharpeners I've used.

So in short, if you need a handheld pencil sharpener, this is the one you want to buy. Best I've used. In fact, I'd even recommend this over an electric unit!

Who knew it would be so difficult to find a pencil sharpener that... well... sharpens pencils?. We tried electric, battery powered and cheap manuals without success. I was thrilled to find this well-reviewed product on Amazon (at a great price), and can add our thumbs up.

This is basically a pencil sharpener and works as a pencil sharpener should. It doesn't really deserve five stars, but it also doesn't deserve less than five stars. I mean it's a darn pencil sharpener. It is what it is.

This pencil sharpener is no good. It will not sharpen any pencil, I have tried all different brands. I would recommend not getting this pencil sharpener. Total waste of money. Waiting to see if I get a full refund as I have requested because the review that I read about it before I purchased obviously wasn't for this same product.
