The large compass has no lock, so it is very difficult to use. The small compass has a lock, but is too small for almost any task. And it flew apart the moment we opened the package. All the metal parts are coarsely finished, difficult to adjust, and fit together poorly. Ignore the Staedtler name on this; it isn't the old Staedtler quality by any means, just a sad imitation.
