4.0 out of 5 stars Good value
Pop a rubber plug out and you can attach a gooseneck. Otherwise, screw on the desktop adapter for your mic. This base stays put.

3.0 out of 5 stars good, but not as pictured
I bought this to go with my SE electronics USB2200A mic so I could set it on my bookshelf while recording. I needed a stand with a 3/8 inch male thread and this has it in the picture. Unfortunately, the product arrives with the larger 5/8 inch thread. I ordered an adapter part for 1.95 plus shipping and the stand works well. I also realized that my mic had an adapter...

Unfortunately, the product arrives with the larger 5/8 inch thread. I ordered an adapter part for 1.95 plus shipping and the stand works well. I also realized that my mic had an adapter part built in, so yours might too? Anyway, it's annoying not getting the item as pictured.

1.0 out of 5 stars This Isn't Even The Same Product as the Picture!, April 25, 2009
This review is from: On Stage DS7100 B Desktop Microphone Stand (Black) (Electronics)
Hey guys -

I bought this mike stand despite the previous reviewer's note that it has the wrong thread size. Well, that's one thing, but the mike stand I just received *isn't even the same product* as the one in the picture. Amazon says this stand has a 4" base. My tape measure says it's 5 1/2". The picture has little knobs visible as feet; my stand has no such knobs. The photo has a 5/8" to 3/8" transfer with a double nut (as mentioned before by the other reviewer). Mine has bare 5/8" screws (male) at the top.

I will be visiting an Ace Hardware to try to find the part that is depicted and should have been included with this product. In the mean time, DO NOT BUY THIS MIKE STAND. There's another one that costs only a bit more on here and it appears to have the correct parts based on the comments. "Music People," you owe me that nut on the top of the pictured stand so I can at least use this product!

It's quite small (height), but if you're just wanting to place a mic on your desk it serves its purpose!

2.0 out of 5 stars Picture is MISLEADING!, October 15, 2009

The picture showing the On-Stage DS7100 Desktop Microphone Stand topped by a threaded 5/8F to 3/8M adapter is MISLEADING: this item actually comes WITHOUT THE ADAPTOR, but with a standard 5/8M thread only!
I ordered 5 of those stands and now I have to order 5 adaptors separately ($3.50 each)! Not to mention paying shipping costs twice for nothing...

Unfortunately you do not get what is pictured here. Instead of a small screw with a holding washer as shown, the item arrives with a standard black pipe with threads on both ends. This will work fine if you already have a microphone clamp designed to screw onto a standard stand, but if you want this for your camera or a digital recorder, this stand will not work.

I had read the other reviews but decided to purchase this desktop mic stand anyway. It is to be used with an Audio Technica (AT2020) mic, and a Sampson (SP01) shockmount. I have also attached a clamp on pop filter. Everything fits both secure and stable. The base is weighted heavily enough to support all the gear it's holding. My only complaint, and it's not much is that the mast could stand to be about 2 or 3 inches taller... But that would require an even heavier base. Overall, it is certainly the best value for a desktop stand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome for the price, February 20, 2012

This is a really solid table mic stand, and you're not going to find a better price (I looked). The base is solid and heavy, and the actual stand is a sturdy metal tube. I liked the first one enough that I ordered a second. I should note, though, that it does not come with the pictured adapter for smaller mic clips, which I can imagine being disappointing even though it didn't affect me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great desktop mic stand, December 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: On Stage DS7100 B Desktop Microphone Stand (Black) (Electronics)
This stand is not the same as the one shown in the photo, but since some of the other reviews already made this clear I ordered. It has a 5/8" male thread mount. I was planning on buying the Samson MD5 Desktop Microphone Stand for C01U, C03U, Q1U, but when I got it in the cart at Amazon the delivery date was too late for me, so I look around and found this one. The prices are about the same. I think this one was a one or two dollars cheaper. I tested it with my microphone mount:
Samson SP01 Shockmount Spider Mount for Condenser Mics
I am using this with these products:
Behringer C-3 Dual-Diaphragm Studio Condenser Microphone
CBI Low Z XLR Microphone Cable, 20 Foot
Behringer Xenyx 802 Premium 8-Input 2-Bus Mixer with Xenyx Mic Preamps and British EQs
All of these I found on Amazon, and after shipping costs and taxes are considered these prices are about the same as some other discount sites and I know I can rely on Amazon to ship on time, so I have been very happy with this product and order.

3.0 out of 5 stars Would have been nice to receive the correct product., June 4, 2011
This review is from: On Stage DS7100 B Desktop Microphone Stand (Black) (Electronics)
As stated below- this stand does NOT come with the adapter depicted. Instead, you are given a rather girthy end to which you must adapt to accordingly. Luckily (like another reviewer below) my shock cradle had the smaller pin adapter inside which was easily removable by screwing it out. Then things adapted correctly, but still- it's a major let down to have to go about getting the thing to work as intended when you receive the wrong piece. All in all, it's a rather basic stand. Incredibly heavy base that weighs down the rest of the piece and a flimsy set of poles. Does the trick, but don't expect anything worth more than the 11 dollars you spend.
